My mom had the same surgery years ago and cannot understand why I feel so bad. I feel crappy ALL the time and I hate this. Everyone I talked to said it was a breeze.
I don't feel like I have to go all the time so I cannot help you there.
I spent an extra day at the hospital due to fever and because I couldn't pee, but I think it's because they got me up too soon. I came home with a cath but took it out the same night and have been going ever since. I don't think I am peeing the same as I was before the surgery but I think once everything gets better again, that will too.
I hate feeling like a baby too. Every time someone asks how I feel, I always say crappy. I am 7 days post op and think they're tired of hearing it. UGH!

Hi Preciouskittin,
Everyone's body reacts differently so don't try to compare your self to anyone specifically. My bladder is still really irritated, but it helps to drink water with a little baking soda in it. It makes the urine less acidic and so less irritating. I still feel pain in my lower abdomen. It feels like the pain from a really bad period or bladder infection, and I'm still really weak if I'm up for very long. My surgery was the day before yours but every day makes a difference at this point. Are you taking anything at all for pain, even aspirin? I'm still popping pain pills because I might as well be as comfortable as possible, it isn't like I'm going anywhere, LOL.
Just ignore her, sisters are way too competitive :-)

What is the deal with not being able to sleep at night then? I can't either, especially hard not to be able to lie on your side and be comfortable. I was up at 2am reading the newspaper on my hands and knees just to get comfortable.

I hear ya on the can't sleep thing. I think it's because I'm not doing enough during the day and taking naps. I've been feeling really good so I told myself I would get hubby to take me to the mall to walk (get a change of scenery) today. Well..... not going to happen. We watched a Blue Collar Comedy movie last night ( Larry the Cable Guy - Jeff Foxworthy etc) and today I'm in serious pain! Those guys are NOT good for recovery!

I'm having a hard time sleeping too. I'm sure it is lack of exercise and activity. I kept waking up stretching last night so I think my body is ready for more activity today. I know I have been been in bed too much.

Walking around is making me nauseous, but I'm going to stick to it. I'll wait for hubby to get home to walk outside, but it is time to get dressed in something other than pajamas and try to feel better. I still feel crummy and I'm sick of it!

I'll let you all know if it worked :-) I'm also going to try staying off the lap top a bit. It is too easy for me to stay in bed all day with a computer in front of me. Better to get up and get on the PC, LOL.

Morning Ladies, I don't say good morning untill I can verify that it is a good one. Hope today finds everyone doing better. All I feel like doing so far is sleeping. Guess my body is telling me to take it easy still.. I'm keeping all my sisters in my thoughts and prayers.

man i tottaly see what you guys are talking about with not being able to sleep. last night was my worse night i was awake every two hours, tossing and turning ( as much as i can ) and that is with my sleeping pills. I tottaly agree with snowy-owl i think its because im normally very active working out, and being on my feet 9 hours a day and moving around now im basically sitting on couch. Im so ready to feel better so i can go walk outside ( if it ever quits snowing )
I did notice some swelling in my belly went down today so that is great maybe i can stand up more and move more today i hope so.
hope everyone else is getting better hang in there girls we will get through this with each others help i thank everyone who has helped me
