breast cysts

I had a full hysterectomy in late November and started on .3 Primara (sp?) three weeks later.

A couple of my breast cysts have suddenly increased to 3 or 4 times their normal size.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it something I need to worry about?

I think to be on the safe side you need to call your Dr and talk to them. I have fibrocysctic breasts(sp?) I have big cycsts all the time in my right boob, sometimes they ache more then others, Like my body still trys to cycle even though I had a TAH/BSO last January, Im on premarian
1.25x aday, for my hrt....I would think hormone s may play a part in your cycsts but I would check and make sure..
please keep me posted on how your doing!

Thanks Skarlet.

I've had problems with them enlarging in relation to my cycle before, but not to this extent.

One of them is now visible.

Hormone cyst

My best friend had this problem (painful) and the dr. told her it was the hormones doing it. He put her on Paxil for the menopause symptoms and she has been loving life ever since.

Hi (((catattitude))) I have not heard of Primara, but could you mean Premarin? That's an estrogen-only HRT. Women with a tendency towards getting fibrocystic breasts often find the problem increases on estrogen; adding some progesterone can help a lot with that. You can read more about progesterone and breast issues in Dr. Lee's book "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Breast Cancer" (which is not only about cancer).

I would talk with your DR about the cysts; have a mammogram soon if you have not had one lately, because it can serve as a new baseline since your surgery. That way they can tell the difference between 'normal' cysts and anything to be concerned about.

Premarin is what I meant. Sorry, had to go into the kitchen to get the bottle.

I am late for my mammogram. Every year it's the same thing. Regular mammogram, compression mammogram and then an ultra sound. You would think that after 5 plus years of this, they would let me skip the first two and proceed directly to the ultra sound. I'm even willing to skip passing go and collecting the 200 dollars. :-)

Thanks for the info on the hormones. I'll call my doctor.
