Feeling like period will start - anyone else?

I am 2 weeks and 4 days so we had our surgeries about the same time. What procedure did you have? I had an LSH on 1/11. What is happening to your body to make you feel like your period is coming? Did you keep your ovaries?

Feeling like period will start - anyone else?

I am almost at 3 weeks, yesterday out of the blue I stated to feel horrible cramping and kept thinking "this feels like I am starting", you know even running to check. I felt horrible most of the day, then I wondered what in the world could be cramping, I had it all removed.

I have quit taking such good care and fallen back into too much coffee and cokes, so I decided to drink water, after a couple of glasses of water the cramping had stopped. Now I am thinking it was more of bladder spasms cause I just can't imagine what else there is.

Hope this passes for you soon. Take care.

Feeling like period will start - anyone else?

I recall at 2 weeks feeling EXACTLY the same way!! It felt just like menstrual cramps ... I began to think I should have listened to my surgeons advice & removed the ovaries too. My "menstrual" symtoms lasted a couple days & then resolved. Fortunately the symtoms have not reoccurred & now I am 7 weeks postop & still believe keeping my ovaries was the right decision for myself. Our bodies are quite complex! Hope you feel better soon - just know you are not alone in your symtoms!

I felt the same way last week at 2 weeks post op. I am now almost 3 weeks and experiencing light cramping and tightness and having bad dreams. Strange what our bodies and minds can do to us and the feelings we share but cannot quite explain. It is nice to have a place to go when we need someone to understand.

Take care.

Do you mean you physically or mentally are "waiting to start your period"? I ask b/c I although I still have some physical symptoms, I am having a hard time relaxing mentally. I have bled so much and so often that a pad was a part of my life--my daily attire. I feel naked some days without it. I ALWAYS wore a pad with some of my lighter khakki pants and when I wore then the other day without a pad I was paranoid all day.

I just have to learn to relax and feel confident that those flooding days are NO more!!

rt3773 -Do you find yourself checking to see if you bled through your clothes onto the couch or chair after standing up? I still do this. I hope I can stop someday.

TC1194 -My ovaries are gone, and I got this sharp pain, just like pre-op when I would ovulate on the left side. I believe it's phantom pain. It does not happen much now after seven weeks.

Hope you feel better,

Iam always checking to see if i am bleeding thought it was just me. i even imagine that i can feel myself bleeding most of the time when i was in hospital i kept telling the nurse that i was bleeding and would she have a look but every time she looked there was nothing there i think they thought i was mad.i am 3 wks post op and still feel the same and i am dreading getting back to normal especially with sex i think it will take me along time to stop this bleeding phobia i seem to have developed. i think that everithing i do will make me bleed hope it passes with time.
