3 mos. post surgery - still exhausted

Thanks ladyfaith for your excellent input! Last night I had to have a discussion with my hubby about being patient with me and my recovery time. Relations are still a problem and I ache for days afterwards. I also have fibro so a lot of what I am feeling could be a continual flare from having back to back abdominal surgeries. He is soooo good to me, but he's hurting that he cannot be close to me. Sigh!!!

At just past 11 wks post op now I am starting to feel like I have more energy than before.

3 mos post surgery on Monday, feeling pretty good, working fulltime, exercising 5 days a week, just did abs for the first time, but there are still times that I just need to put my head down and rest, and sometimes if its a stressful day just don't have the energy that I'm used to before surgery, looking forward to the next few months a feeling stronger and better each week... hope everyone is getting stronger...

I think I'm 10 weeks? I go to work, come home, make dinner, go to bed. With some variations but generally by 8pm am exhausted and cranky. So today I had planned on taking my 96 year old mother to her favorite place (a casino) about an hour from where we live. Got up, cleaned the house (needed it) and I need to go to the market (children to feed). Short form is that I'm too tired to drive an hour to the casino and an hour back plus dealing with all the noise and smoke. I feel like i should make myself go because it's about the only thing my mother really enjoys but I'm just afraid that prior to the drive back I'll be exhausted and cranky and not be pleasant. I feel guilty but on the other hand I can just take her to dinner instead, which won't make her as happy but.... I feel like I'm being self-centered. This recovery thing is beginning to be old. My abdomen is really sore today - it's so hard to think that just going to work and trying to live a "normal" life would leave me so worn out on a Saturday. Grrr...

3 mos. post surgery - still exhausted

Hello All,
I am just over 3 months post op and I am feeling great. I think I am even more energetic then I was before the surgery. This past summer was awful for me. I have 2 sons that are golfers and my husband and I usually follow them from hole to hole in their tournaments this summer I had to ride in a cart just couldn't walk the course with ease.

About the middle of December I noticed the difference I felt good....... still nap from time to time in the afternoon but I think that is more my age then from the surgery. I work at home we have an energy managemnt business with 6 employees and I run the office plus take care of my handicapped mom that lives with us......oh and 2 of my boys still live with us.

After Christmas my husband started on an excersize program and has been good with it so the middle of last week I decide that I should get back on the track again so I started walking 30 minutes on the treadmill and strength training on the Bowflex........I feel good and nothing hurts. Let's see if I get a flat tummy agian.

What are you doing about restless legs, and are you experiencing any pain? I am up night after night with this, and am taking OTC to help with the aching, but I am pretty miserable. I am almost 5 weeks post op.
does anyone know what they do to your legs (postion, etc) during surgery (TAH)? I feel like my right hip is totallyout of joint?

I am up every night from 3 to 430 0r 5. I feel like I have my days and nights mixed..everyday is a long afternoon nap.
thanks to all who may know what to do.

I can relate to most of the issues in the above posts. I actually felt better at 5 weeks then I do now. Most days my belly is swollen like a balloon- way more then in the first few post op weeks. I have also gained 8 kg--due partly to giving up smoking before the op. I realy hope it all does get better.. I also have noticed that I get the "jumps'in my sleep now-- something I never had before. "sigh" this is crap ray.
