Antibiotics / Yeast Infection

I too, was lucky enough to experience thrush or a deep seeded yeast infection due to the antibiotics I was administered. I was given topical creme called Nystatin and also prescription for Nizoral. Seems to be working fine. Good luck to all of you!

Antibiotics / Yeast Infection

I am only half way through my prescription though and lo and behold I have a prescription at home written in November from my family doc for Diflucan. I phoned the pharmacist just to ensure that I can take this alongside with Flagyl and he said it "should" be fine. I think I might phone another pharma just to make sure. To those ladies that have taken the Diflucan = was it alongside with Flagyl.

Interesting enough.... after being on the Flagyl for 1.5 days the "smell" has disappeared so perhaps I was harbouring a bit of an infection.

I am not one big on antibiotics but I too would rather deal with a yeast infection than something more serious.

I suffer quite regularly with Yeast Infections. I have spent a lot of money seeing a naturopath to try and eliminate them. My gyno is optimistic that these will decrease as she said the heavy long periods and wearing pads for so long may have contributed to them. I ALWAYS got them right after my periods.

Thanks so much ladies for your suggestions.
