Fuzzy brain and 2 week post op check
I have been commenting on other post about how I have a fuzzy, dizzy brain and can't seem to shake it. I also can't seem to remember things and keep asking the same questions over and over and over.... At my 2 week check up today I asked the doctor about it because I thought it may be from the anesthesia and the pain meds (which I stopped taking at the hospital 2 weeks ago). She said that it's not the anesthesia or the pain meds but it is my brain reacting to my missing ovaries. She suggested that I take a multi vit. and another of B complexes. I have to add that I had breast cancer and I can not take any hormones of any kind. So, has anyone heard of this or more importantly tried this and have you been successful? I am not having hot flashes, sweats, etc, just the fuzzy head. Any help or stories would be great. Thanks.

Fuzzy brain and 2 week post op check
I talked to my doctor about this because my brain is fuzzy :marble: , I am having hot flashes and night sweats and in general just TIRED most of the time. He said that the tiredness and fuzziness is more than likely because my body is expending so much energy recovering from surgery that these things come secondary and should clear up within a month or so...I sure hope so.
For me, as far as hot flashes and night sweats...he is baffled. He said he has never heard this from a patient who kept their ovaries...he seems to think if they are failing, then they will always...But I hear some sisters talk about them going out temporarily...I am so confused.
I am sorry for intruding on your thread. I will start another about ovaries temporarily going out.

Fuzzy brain and 2 week post op check
Hey no problem, you aren't intruding!!! I want to hear from anyone that has anything to say. Maybe my fuzzyness will clear up soon. It has to, I'm going back to school in two weeks, yikes! I'm going to try the vitamins and see what happens. I'm just tired of the fuzzy ditsy headed person I've become.

I still think some of us react to the anesthetic more than others...Of course the anesthesiologist said "no way". I had a D&C on Dec. 13, and I was still not finishing my sentences when I went in for the TAH/BSO on Jan. 31... I have gone thru menopause, so I don't think it is all related to hormones. I still have trouble spelling the simplest words also...
This too shall pass. Hang in there.
