Increasing hemoglobin?

I already take 900 mgs of iron day(with orange juice) and my hemoglobin count is not going up. I had Blood taken in Jan and found out yesterday that my numbers are still "low"(My Husband had an appt..and my dr told him to relay the message to me.. without giving him the acutal numbers.. just "low")
She suggested increasing the amount of red meat I eat but I am not a huge fan..

Anyone have any ideas?

Increasing hemoglobin?

When I was anemic, in addition to taking iron, I was given a list of foods that could help. They included:
Clams, pork Liver, oysters, chicken liver, mussels, beef liver, beef, shrimp, turkey, sardines, beans, baked potato ( with skin ), asparagus and enriched pastas.

Best wishes, maybe you should call your dr for the actual numbers so that you can tell if they have increased any. Also ask for his/her advice
