Post Op pain and swelling

The gas pain was the worst for me, too. Walking will get things going, drink lots of water and stay away from heavy foods until your system gets back on track. I have been using metamucil powder and trying to eat more fiber rich foods. I had a BM at day 3 or 4...I forget which. Your colon can get "sleepy" from the anesthesia, so it takes a few days for things to wake up. I used Gas-X strips for the gas pains, but I am not sure if that helped a whole lot. Other ladies on here swear by it and it's easy to take. The best thing for me was walking and staying hydrated. Good luck.

Thanks for all of the tips. I'm glad to know this is pretty normal. Tomorrow will be day three so maybe it will be better then.
