My Post-op

Oh so nice to be home.
Went in 6.15am on the 5Th Feb got IV at 9.30, said goodbye to DH had spinal block and then went to sleep. Woke up very sore from incision but had a headache from double hockey sticks. It got worse too. Dr told me I had lost a lot of blood so only 11cm cyst and uterus were removed, which were stuck to the bowel. The urethral sling will have to be done about a month from now.. Headache increasing pain and pounding in the ears every time I stand up to walk some, next the puking starts and it doesn't stop. Poor Dr is trying everything through IV to stop the pain and the puking..I get blood transfusion as I am about a quart low they said..I feel like a pin cushion I have had more needles and IVs then they have. Finally after trying a new cocktail at noon the headache leaves by 3.00pm I am human again smiling and everyone is happy to see me smiling..I ask if I eat some solid food can I go home.. So with my stash aka bag of pills I come home and sleep in my lovely bed until about 1.00am then pop more percoset and sleep until 7.30am. Today life is good sore tummy but so happy to be home. Showered ate some lunch and had another nap. Just to say it can be rough but it does get better hang in there...Once again thank you to this sight for all the info that everyone shares.

My Post-op

Glad you are home. Rest Rest Rest. I am almost 4 weeks post op and had a headache from the same place you did. after 3 days I called (ok only after throwing up the excedrine migraine). Got some anti nausea and pain meds (although not strong enough to make headache go completely away). Today was much better laid around only did 4 loads of laundry.

Anyway, goodluck to you
