bleeding after intercourse
Hello all. Well here I am 10 months after surgery and feel great. Had no idea life could be so good. Except for one complication. After intercourse, I bleed. Not heavy like cycle bleeding, but enough to notice on the sheet. I called my doc and he told me to tell hubby to be more gentle and laughed. I am not laughing and neither is hubby. Nurses told me to use lubricant. Still happened. A friend of mine experienced same thing and when they checked her, well it had spread. Because of insurance issues I cant go sEe someone else and my doc says it is natural for it to happen. No worries. Well i am worried and now hubby wont touch me...at least not like that. I have tried ti insist on an appointment and have been told it can be discussed in April when I go for my one year. I am getting worried and need some advice. Thanks bunches

Your dr seems to be unthoughtful. I don't have any suggestions. Not even 2 wks post op. But I feel bad for you. I hope someone will come along that has gone through it before. Let us know how it goes.

 s Princess
I'm sorry your doctor has been so insensitive to your problems.
I see from your profile that you have had your ovaries removed with your surgery. you may be suffering from vaginal dryness/atrophy that can cause bleeding after intercourse.
I had dreadful dryness after my LAVH/BSO and starting using Replens to help build up some tissue. It is non- hormonal (I had cancer so hormones were a no-no per my docs) and after a few weeks of using the Replens found a huge improvement. You can find Replens at Walmart or pharmacies. I still use a lubricant for intercourse, even though I now use Vagifem, a very low dose vaginal hormone tablet; I still occasionally use Replens if I feel extra dry.
s and best wishes .... Wendy

bleeding after intercourse
WOW- this seems really unethical
I would call and INSIST on being seen.
I was spotting (as I've seen is common after intercourse) and had to have silver nitrate applied to a spot on the cuff.
Hugs- I REALLY hope you're able to be seen soon.

bleeding after intercourse
Hi Princess,
I'm sorry your doctor had such an insensitive and inappropriate response to your concern. I have a couple of questions -
1. Do you still have your cervix? I know that I always had some bleeding after sex (pre-op) because I had blood vessels very close to the surface and the slightest irritation made me bleed. If not, I'm thinking the same as Wendy that it could be vaginal dryness, or perhaps some granulation on the vaginal cuff if you had your cervix removed as Shannyn mentioned.
2. Do you have both a primary care doctor, and a gynocologist surgeon, or are they one and the same? I'm just wondering if you have a separate pcp if that doctor can help you, and at least be a little more comforting and reassuring.
On the bright side, it's wonderful that you have a sensitive husband who doesn't want to hurt you.
I'm sorry this is happening now. It doesn't sound like a major issue to be worrying about, but it's still disconcerting when you don't have a definitive explanation to set your mind at ease. I hope you can get this resolved sooner than April. Please keep us updated.

bleeding after intercourse
Well, I went to Patient First and they told me it is nothing to worry about. They used this really long word but basically I have a flap that gets irratated. It does need to be removed eventually but they told me not to panic..Actually the nurse told me more intercourse will also help to eliminate the problem. LOL Hubby is all excited about that. I have contacted my insurance and they are going to let me see another GYN for the issue and have permitted another "C" screen. Thank you ladies for your wonderful responses and for the support and love. I will keep everyone posted.
