Can't Sleep....ugh

I feel so tired yet when I lay down to go to sleep I can not fall a sleep, this has been for a week now. I am not in any pain. I do have this annoying pelvic/vaginal pressure??? Does anyone else have this problem?

Theresa,
I had a bout with constipation which kept me awake. Since this is gone I have slept at least 6 hours for two nights without any pain meds. Prior to that I was sleeping maybe 2 hours at a time. If you have not had a BM that could be causing your pressure. Hope you get some sleep soon!

My doc says that insomnia can be a problem when the ovaries are removed. She prescribed a months worth of Ambien for me which solved the problem. One warning though; don't get the generic. I don't know why, but the generic version just doesn't seem to work as well for a lot of people.

I have a question for catattitude.....I was also prescribed 30 ambien. Did you take all yours? If so, was it hard for you to sleep without it? I've tried here and there to not use an ambien and I'm still having issues with insomnia so I get up and take one. I only have about a week left of pills. I don't want to take anymore after they are gone but I am afraid I won't sleep!

I only needed them for a couple of weeks, but I didn't start taking them until three weeks after my surgery.

Are you taking 5mg or 10?

Supposedly you can't get dependent upon ambien physically, but I worry about a psychological dependence.

I only take them when nothing else works.

I lost enough blood in surgery to lose my resistance to a mild allergy to processed meats, and I've found that a couple of benedril washed down with a cup of 'sleepy time' tea while soaking in a hot bath works very well.

Like everything else, the problem differs from woman to woman. You may need more than one months help.

Hang in there. This too shall pass.
