adoptameezer- I'm so sorry, boy you have had a time. Sorry to hear about your Grandfather. Hope your feeling better soon.

My report- I'll be six weeks on wednesday, and doing ok. I had sharp pains and went to the dr last week and they ran blood work and urine. I didnt hear anything back so I guess it's fine. I rested for a few days and was feeling better but still moving slowly. But with yesterday being easter I went to church with the family. My boys were in the easter drama and husband was well I guess a jack of all trades that day so we were there for all three services 7:30 to 12:30. I was exausted when we got home and noticed a discharge kinda dark pink or light brown and my bladder always seems full with little to no results in the bathroom. anyway I have my 6 week appointment on thursday and will mention this the him then. Hope everyone is doing well.

I had my 6 week post op today. Wednesday will actually be 6 wks.
I had a very good report! There was no pain during the exam, no prolapses, no problems.
I feel like I had the best possible outcome.

Hi Girls

It's about time to check in again.

Adoptameezer, I really feel for you. It's so hard to lose anybody, and my heart goes out to you. Wish your DH could be there for you, too. Hang in there, us girls will be with you in spirit. Yes, do take good care of yourself. This might be a good time for your kids to do a little more for themselves. Make it a game, or something.

I hope the rest of you are ok, too. By the time I get to this posting box I can't think of the names but I know them when I'm reading, LOL!!

Thursday will be 6th week for me. I just noticed today, swelly belly seems to be almost gone!! Still can't wear my jeans yet but I did put them on today. Just hurts around the middle. So, back into sweat pants.

Still having odd pains and things like the rest of you. Guess it is nature doing its work. Had a 1 and a 3 week check up and then surgeon said I didn't need to come back. Everything seems to be in working order. I find I still need the Dulcolax to keep things softened and working better. I guess one of those a day doesn't hurt?

I still have fibromyalgia. Darn, it didn't miraculously just go away as a side effect from surgery! I was SO hoping.... LOL.

Well, gals, have a great week, and take very good care of yourselves. I sure wouldn't want to have to work. Had 4 grandkids and their 2 moms over y'day and it 'bout killed me. It was too long and I was beyond exhausted. It was fun, even though I wanted them to go home a couple hours before they did!!! The fibro is a double whammy as it exhausts me as well. There's always something! But I think I am doing well overall, except maybe for overdoing.

Take good care!!!

Hi KitKat...I see you had a TLH the same day I did - Valentine's Day! But from what you just wrote - that your swelly belly is just now about gone, that you still can't wear your jeans, that you still have some pains, and that visitors yesterday wore you out...I have a feeling a lot of that is because of your fibromyalgia. I think that having fibro makes your recovery harder and slower. Because I've been wearing jeans for weeks, have no pain at all anymore, have been back to work for two weeks, and am 100% back to my "normal" life as far as housework, kids, errands, sex, exercise, etc. I'm not telling you this stuff to make you feel bad; please don't get me wrong. I'm just letting you know to take extra good care of yourself with having the fibro on top of trying to recover from surgery.

Right sided pains

I was glad to hear others are having strange pains at the near 6 week mark. I didn't take the stool softener for a few days and then had horrid pain on my right side. I think it was constipation. I am back to upping my fiber and I think I will stay on the stool softener. Also so glad to hear from you ladies that the spec exam was not painful. I have my 6 week check with internal exam and now am a little less nervous about it. Is everyone getting off any lifting restrictions at the 6 week check?

My doctor still wants me to limit lifting. He says that I'm still healing in the pelvic region. May also be concerned about development of adhesions as we discovered from my myomectomy that I have that little issue. sigh

Take it easy. It may look clear on the outside, but there's still a lot going on internally.

well after being pulled walking a 60 pound dog, I was miserable yesterday, took 3 advil last night, and today i felt better, but still feel lots of pulling and pinching, more on the right side. I have my 8 week check up in 2 weeks. I too am nervous about it. I think i'm a slooow healer, and people at work say that i should be a lot better, which is making me feel guilty, which of course I know is stupid. Of course none of them have had a hysterectomy.
So happy healing to ya all.

Have just found all your posts. I had a TAH BSO for large fibroids on the 13th Feb. I cannot believe you all went home from hospital so soon. I stayed in 5 nights, could have stayed 6 nights. Loved the stay in hospital, having been dreading it. Was in a real state before the operation as I could not make up my mind about the ovaries, wanted to keep them but in the end had no choice. Now nearly 6 weeks later, doing well but had lots of ups and downs because I keep trying to do too much but I still have lots of admiration for all you ladies who had such a short stay in hospital. Is that normal in the US?

It's very normal in the US to be discharged from the hospital ASAP. I was discharged after 1 night stay. I thought I would die just getting up my steps at home. Doing much better now. I haven't walked our Golden Retriever as yet.

Quick update

Hi all!

Quick update: I still have constipation and belly aching - worse than it was at 3 and 4 weeks, and it will be 6 weeks this Friday. I had a bacterial infection about a week and half ago followed by a yeast infection. Doc (primary care) said all should be well but the abdominal pains (again, worse than they have been since probably week 2) are back and I got scared so I went to the Oby/Gyn who studied under my specialist (my specialist is a 7+ hour round trip drive away) and he checked everything out and said all looks good and that the vaginal cuff will still be a couple of weeks healing (stitches are still dissolving) and that I should still take fiber, stool softeners, etc. but that I will continue to have some bowel issues for a while because of the all of the bowel involvement now and in the past surgery.

I am glad to see everyone moving long pretty good. I go back to work next week and am now dreading it. I am going to get back on Advil and stop being brave - doc said it's o.k. so I will. That should help - that, and some naps!

Have a great day ladies!
