Still pain on sitting and standing. 6 weeks post-op

I wonder if anyone else has this problem as I cannot find any information about it and would appreciate any advice. Have had a slow recovery due to constant pain (Had TLVH and BSO on 2 January 08) Have seen Consultant again yesterday and he says pain is due to inflammation of pelvic floor and affects approximately 1 in 200 cases. I have pain on passing urine and after, in what feels like the urethra and bladder region (urine sample negative) I cannot sit down comfortably and if I stand the pain in my back and abdomen becomes unbearable and makes me feel sick and faint. It hurts all underneath and at 6 weeks I am feeling quite depressed by it all. The second day after surgery my abdomen swelled enormously and was black and blue with bruising and very painful. (apparently this was due to the fluid the Dr had left in the abdominal cavity to prevent adhesions.) Any offers of advice would be greatly appreciated. Had surgery for removal of fibroids/ uterine polyp/extensive endo and adhesions.

Sounds like you had to have a lot of work done due to endo. Your body has been through a lot. It's going to take time to heal. I'm nearly 6 months out and still having some issues and slowly healing. If you haven't already requested your records, doing so might answer some questions as to what your experiencing in different areas. It is depressing when we went into this thinking we were going to feel better! I believe we will eventually. Just don't compare yourself negatively to anyone else. If others are recovering quicker, they may not have had as much surgical trauma. Your body will tell you when it's healed, which could be up to a year. But if it means the rest of your life being healthier and feeling better, what is 1 year really? Hang in, we'll get through this. Of course, anything that seems really unusual or is very painful should be discussed with your Dr. ASAP
