Will I gain weight after a TVH/BSO

Hi Starbgirl,

Well after week 9 I finally started to eat meats again so I made beef stews and had small amounts of steak and baked potato. I did go to Mcdonadls which I really don't like but it seemed to help me get the pounds back that I had lost. I am still at the 100 I was at before surgery and I am fine with that. I am only 5' 2" so really don't want to be much bigger than that. Once I got the weight back I stopped going to McD's and went back to my 2 times a day meals. I never eat breakfast and then I have a light lunch and then a bigger dinner. I don't have any lactose issues so not sure about those. I did find that I snacked alot on chips or crackers at first I craved salty things for weeks. I have a high metabolism so that was alot of my issues.
I guess my advice would be eat what ever you feel like and as much as you want til you get back to the weight you are wanting then cut back on things you really don't need.
Hope this helps.

Will I gain weight after a TVH/BSO

Does keeping your ovaries or not have anything to do with gaining weight? I kept my ovaries, have had very little appetite and I know I haven't eaten enough to gain weight. Stepped on the scale yesterday and have gained 5 pounds!! I was told that it's just fluid and will go away, but I thought for sure I would have at least lost a couple of pounds by now.

I don't think keeping ovaries or not has anything to do with it. I kept mine and still lost weight. I think alot of it has to do with how good an appetite you have right after and if you have a high metabolism or not.
Take care.
