Pain where ovaries used to be ~ anyone else?

Hello cat 47,

Me too. I did some reading about phantom pain when this started, hysterectomy where mentioned in the article (wish I could find that darned article). Apparently many women (here) and that where polled for the article, reported menstrual- and ovulation-like pains after their hysterectomy. Mine have subsided for the most part.

Pain where ovaries used to be ~ anyone else?

I get them, especially when my period should be starting. I also get the same food cravings. I've also noticed some itching where my ovaries used to be. It's not very often and not that bad though.

Pain where ovaries used to be ~ anyone else?

I too have some pain where the ovaries use to be, the pain I have now is like a constant crimping feeling and still to the left of my incision (my incision goes up the stomach to the left of the belly button) but to the left of my incision I still have a noticeable bruise and it is still sore and tender. I asked about the pain and the doctor said that it is pain from what they did inside the body. I am 6 weeks tomorrow and the pain at the ovaries seems to have passed but that crimping pain is still there and i still take meds at night. I asked the doctor about why he told me 10-12 possible 14 weeks recovery and here is what he said and boy did it speak volumes and I am so careful now and I understand why we are not suppose to lift. The doctor told me that our bladder is held in place by our uterus so when it is gone the bladder needs to re-adjust and is held in place by a few stitches :wowee: so because of that you have to take it easy until the bladder re conforms or the stitches could pop and then WHAT. After he told me that I was very very and will be very very careful not to do too much or lift. I am passing this along for all of you that might think you can do more then you should like I did and tell be very careful. Good luck all!!

kitty cat 47 -I am still having them, in fact, right now on my left side. This is the side pre-op that, for years, hurt when I ovulated. I am 10 weeks out and back to work 40+ hours so that may have something to do with it.
