Hello Everyone,
I haven't been on the site in weeks. I finished my last internal radiation treatment a week ago Friday. So yesterday was my first full Friday to do whatever I wanted without seeing a doctor! It's going well. I've been told that they did all that was humanly possible to "cure" me. I only have a 3-5 % chance that the cancer will reoccur. I guess those odds are pretty good. I've been working in my garden and the digging has caused some pain, but I just take some advil and rest the next day and I'm good to go again. I'm seeing the ob/gyn surgeon on Wed. June 4th. I'm hoping she'll discharge me with instructions to see her in 6 months or a year. I feel like this is all behind me now. Yesterday, I bought a new tank-kini bathing suit and my stomach is so flat again. All my clothes are too big. I had to buy a new pair of jeans in the girl's dept. I'm back to eatting all the things I like and have begun to go out to dinner with friends. I hope you all have your old lives back and thank you for posting.
Jett

Hi Ladies. Glad to hear that many of us have improved and are getting on with our lives. I'm doing well physically, but a few days ago started being really wacky emotionally. I still have my ovaries and it may be PMS symptoms...I had them last month and if it were them now then my cycle would be a week and a half off. Anyways, I've just been feeling these highs and lows. One minute I'm find, the next I'm yelling at my DD for doing something she shouldn't be (whether it's a small thing or large thing). And my poor hubby. He's dealing with it well, but was getting a little tired of me today. We have company coming tonight (I've never met them before) so hopefully I do fine for that. I'm really thinking that it's probably PMS symptoms, but has anyone else been going through something similar? I think I may get a basal thermometer to take my temp and try to find the cycle with that. I would appreciate any prayers that anyone would be willing to offer up on my behalf. Thanks.

Jett so glad to hear from you--was getting worried. SO glad to hear good news! YAY!!!! You are very lucky to get such good news, I hope it keeps going well for you. My godmother's stage 4 uterine cancer (on bladder and in lymph) has been reduced to where she doesn't need any more radiation or chemo until it comes back. However, it's nearly 100% chance it will return so hopefully she'll stay healthy for awhile.
Great to hear you are enjoying life--just hearing that makes my day! Thank you for coming back and sharing with us!

clori22,
I have been dealing with emotions all over and have been blaming most of it on depression, but I'm sure it's all related to everything our bodies have been put through. It's like we had a transplant and they closed us up before putting the new organ back in --our bodies have a lot to deal with.
I know I've been straining those around me and have quieted down so I don't scream. but some days I do still scream. I just try to go outside or somewhere no one will hear me. like the old Alien movie tagline "in outer space no one can hear you scream"

Hi Ladies

Just checking in with you all, and very very HAPPY to hear your news Jett!!!! It just seems like yesterday when you told us everything facing you...YAY YOU!!! You should do something to celebrate...

I am glad to see others are feeling well, and continue to send warm wishes of healing to those of you who are not.

I have actually been doing FABULOUS and am very happy about that. I've been on the go flying to various provinces in my new job and LOVING IT..Perhaps that's why I've totally forgotten about the hysterectomy...

My son has his graduation mass next Saturday evening, and the actual graduation on June 18, so not as lucky as Mew with having it all over..it is just beginning for us...we are very excited to celebrate this milestone with him though..

Hugs to you all, take care & be well soonest..

I'm so glad to hear Jett's good health report and that Cynthia is enjoying her new job! You both deserve it. Marta - I'm glad you got through your son's graduation and I know you'll recover and be back to yourself soon.

I am feeling better physically....finally! I started taking amitizia a couple weeks ago and it's really helped with the constipation and gas/bloating. I still take stool softeners but I'm going to try cutting back on those. When I saw my dr yesterday he said "You sure are chipper!" I was like... yeah remember me...the pre-surgery me!? Honestly, my emotions are a little up and down though. Like some of you, I find myself being less patient with other people and sometimes I worry that I am falling into depression. I feel sorry for my husband and kids having to put up with me on the bad days. Clori- I hadn't even thought that I might still have PMS! I just keep thinking I'll feel better soon (physically) and then everything else will fall into place. Just this past week I am feeling better so hopefully it will keep getting better from here.

Hang in there if you (like me) are still having those random pains or are feeling depressed. We will ALL overcome this!! God didn't bring us this far to let us down now!

Hello to everyone, it's been a few weeks since I posted but I have been keeping up by reading yours.

Jett, great news for you .

Cynthia, I'm with you! I feel fantastic. DH & I are flying off to Sydney for the long weekend and I don't have to worry about anything to do with periods & such. It's very easy to get used to.We are attending the National Hair Expo there. Will also have a night at "Phantom of the opera" which I am sooo looking forward to.

Spent lots of money on nice underwear too, and thrown all the old stuff away. Yey!

Went shopping for nearly a whole new wardrobe of clothes too! It was very exciting. I'm not really a clothes junkie but ,as I said, It's more fun when you feel good.

It's just comming into winter here, so I envy all you northerners and your summer weather at the moment.

Keep well!

I send my best wishes to you all.
