great to see the encouragement on the site when i got on this morning!! i too am feeling better this week. i am taking a fast from tv during the day and that forces me to move around. i feel so much better and feel that emotionally i am feeling much better than last week. still have a whole house to clean but i will get it done eventually. i had a very busy weekend and was surprised to find that i still had energy on monday. we had a women's sleepover for our church ladies on friday night and we had one lady in her late 60's that hadn't spent the night away from her husband except for hospital stays-so we initiated her and took her driving and did donuts in the walmart parking lot and we went down a dark plantation road that is kind of creepy. we had a blast. we also had a short bible study time and then we played a board game. it was great for us to have such a wonderful age range from 12 to 70 all sharing time together. then on saturday i had an end of school bash with our church assoc. we had about 90 people there-it was great. i even got in the dunking booth. i thought i would be hurting so bad after that- but i am fine!!! then sunday we stayed at church after the morning service to work on vbs stuff and then we had a fellowship-some youth and my huband and i stayed until midnight playing games. again that was great too because we hadn't done that in a long time. so all in all, it was a great weekend. and the only thing bothering me right now is my bum knee that i hurt in oct and never went to get it checked out. but i am in high gear now-i have a kids grief camp on saturday that i am a counselor for and then monday i am working at a golf tournament for the hospice i used to work for and now volunteer for. keep me in your prayers-i am trying to find a job for this summer and really need one desperately.
anyway, so i hope that the rest of you struggling will find that one week it just kicks into place and you start feeling like yourself again. i know that there is a chance that i may not stay feeling like this but i will take it as it comes. i decided after my last posts that i cannot let this get to me. i must trust that God is carrying me through this and i will get past those bad days.....i will focus on him and trust him for the outcome of it all.
blessings ladies......i am so glad to hear such wonderful news!
i miss you talking to you all as often as we used to but i understand we must all move on and only have time for touching base. that is good i guess. i haven't heard from sheila in a long time-not here or on her personal email-have any of you?

Hi, it's long lost Pansy...

I've not posted in a while because of setbacks. I thought I was home-free with the hrt...

I started having migraines almost daily about 2 weeks ago. Finally, I called my GYN and his nurse said it could definetly be related. My dr is out of town until the 11th. In the mean time I was told to apply my Elestrin gel at the same time every day and see if I improve. I had a M on Monday, but so far I'm 2 days without one. Plus I had another UTI that started Friday night. I've had 2 UTI's since my hyst. I had combined bladder tact surgery with my hyst.

I read some of the recent posts about recurring pain and swelly belly...well, count me in too. I've put my belly band back on (again) and really helps a lot. I had everything takend out too w/verticle incision, and it definetly takes longer to heal.

I'm still a little achey around my defibrillator replacement site, but nothing compared to the hyst.

So don't feel discouraged if you are experiencing setbacks.
I have good days and then I realize I still have limitations if I've done too much.

Hooray for you who are feeling better and have returned to pre-surgey activities. For those of us still lagging behind a bit, it gives us hope.

Blessings to you all!
Pansy

Hi Sisters,
Just checking in to say hi and that I'm glad that basically we're progressing in our healing. Love all the posts and thank you all for sharing. My family and I are doing well. Still planning my wedding and now to move. Was a bit concerned about the moving since I developed the hernia a few weeks ago, but I've gotta get out of the building where I live. I pay way too much money to have to live in such horrible conditions. Yesterday the elevator was down again and I had to walk down 20 flights of stairs to go to work! Anyway, I took that as a sign from God to stop procrastinating and just leave. DD and I are going on a spa/shopping getaway at the end of the month and after that I am just going to start packing a few hours each weekend and that way I won't be so overwhelmed nor do any damage to my body.

Well that's my story! Praying for you all each day and sending thoughts of peace and love to each of you and your familes!
Sylvia

Cynthia, I remember reading that you quit your job, but did not hear about your new one! Congratulations! Are you doing something different now, or the same type of work?

DH and I have been busy readying ourselves and our home for our move across the country. We leave Sunday, and I am soooooo excited to get out of this heat and humidity!! I have been feeling much better, with just occasional twinges of abdominal discomfort. Also, I'm praying for motiviation to become more physically active when I'm not working, as I'm finding that to be a real challenge! Where we live is not real pedestrian-friendly, and we have to drive to get anywhere. Hopefully that won't be the case when we get to WA, and I'll do more walking/biking/hiking.
Anyway, glad to hear the overall consensus is a thumbs-up. God bless you gals!

Sore 44 I envy you. As soon as our house sells (please please please) I'll be following you up from Florida to the Pacific NW for that cooler air and biking/hiking/walking too!

I saw my 2 docs yesterday/today gyno-surgeon and primary care doc. Got 2 new scripts--one for a spasming intestine (stress) and the other increasing my anti-depressant to get me through these difficulties. I feel better just knowing I'm not crazy and am getting some chemical balancing back. I'm restartigng my "frozen" gym membership tomorrow (working late today to cover the doc appt) so that should help me balance things better too.
My surgeon did say I'm healed inside and the swelling is normal, the tingling, so there's no damage going on there--except what stress is doing--she said I need to take care of it or I can go backwards.
oh no, no, noew, not going there!
I passed another exam! 4 down only 5 more to go!
Time to have a good weekend for all of us!
Kim

Jett,
Congratulations and it's so great to get such good news!!
I actually had not a bad week - had a great day yesterday (first day in a long time I wouldn't have known I had surgery!) and then today came and started feeling sore again and feel like you, Kim, that my intestines are spasming. It's a wierd sore though because for me it feels like the deep muscles in my abdomen are causing me this grief. I think I am now on the 6-month program to start feeling more normal!!
I hear you on the depression. For me I had extreme anxiety for the last couple of years and actually today went to get a new prescription to have - just in case. I feel that this recovery is taking so long also. What medication did the dr give you for spasming?
My husband has been gone a great deal the last 4 months so have not even attempted the sex yet. He's back next Thursday for four days and I am getting so nervous. I think trying to be a mom and work full-time is starting to take its toll on me.
Cynthia - your job sounds wonderful - have you flown to our beautiful (but very wet!) city of Calgary yet.

Have a great weekend everyone. Hugs to you all and to the slower healing sisters out there we will get there!!

Saturday is our last day to finish up stuff around here, so I better get some rest! I'll try to post again on the way. Lynn
