You probably should call the doctor. Mine wanted me to come in if I felt I needed to after I got hit with the cart/hanging curtain I am super woman episode. I felt that I was ok this far along, but if it made me feel better he thought it was best. I lifted our vacuum which husband estimated is 20lbs but I did not carry it that far at all!! I lifted it and realized right away!!!!!! They got onto me and made sure I knew not to do that until CLEARD, so you may want to because that was reiterated when I was told I did break the rules and all of them at that...better to be safe than sorry.......thinking of you!!!!!!!!

Hi Mew,
Ya better call your doc--my godsister did the same thing with her 2 yr old and she ended up with 2 hernias. I think she did more than carry him once--but still, to be sure. Better to catch it now before it could get infected if something did open up somewhere--hopefully rest and laying flat or something will be all you need.
Take care of yourself now,

I am so touched

Hi Everyone, I am not sure if I am doing this right, but I am responding to all the threads I have just read. I realise that one of our sisters got great news and one of our sisters is to have radiotherapy. I went on to the site of the journalist Leslie Brodie and her fellow worker. One became a patient and one became a carer. I buired my husband on 4th July 2007. I was his carer from the day we were told until the day he died. It was the most difficult journey I have ever (and still) experienced. He was only 56 and very healthy other than Type 2 diabeties and went to the doc because he had an upset tum. After the tests, we were told he was terminal and the only chance to buy some time was chemo and radiotherapy. I spent the next 18 months in the full knowledge that I was powerless over the outcome and lived every day with the fear of his impending death. I was scheduled for my op at the same time taht we found out, and without hesitaion, I told the surgeon I could not be out of action for five minutes, so I put myself on hold. I had my op on 19th Feb 2008 and am now 4 weeks post op. I am not at all sure how I feel as I know I am still greiving. My mind is very detatched from reality and daily life and events do not have the impact on me that they might have had. This might be a good thing--who knows. I am not sure if I am making much sense, but the article was so close to my heart, I had to respond. The lady has given her email and I plan to contact her. My problem is, the journals I read were dated 2007 and I am unclear as to the status of her husband. It has even occured to me that this message might be totally inappropiate. I am still struggling my way around the site and have asked for help in navigating it. Being here on my own, I find the site very comforting and I want to talk to everyone.
I hope what I have written is ok. I welcome any comments that anyone might like to send me.

From a very confused sister.

Irish Blue Eyes, welcome to the site. I am so sorry to hear of your loss, I cannot imagine how you must be feeling especially with having to deal with your recovery as well. I pray that you will be comforted with the prayers and kind thoughts I and the other sisters will be sending your way.

Mew, I am praying that you are ok. I know that the LORD has His hands on you, so all will be well. Please take it easy and rest.

I am doing very well, have been thanking God for good weather and the ability to take walks outside. Using my pedometer and increasing my steps and time each day. Today I walked 18 blocks which is the most I've done since I've been in recovery. I really need to watch my snacking and I've been so mean to my fiancee lately. I am so displeased with myself for the lack of self control but have made a new vow to be better from now on.

Love yall and remember, the best is truly yet to come!

Hi everyone,
sorry to hear some of you are having to cope with radiation, pains and feeling sad, hope you all are feeling positive and well today..
i went for my 4 week check up yesterday, I was cleared for driving, but no lifting, exercise for 2 more weeks.
I was concerned as my vertical wound had bits coming out. He said all fine, just bits of the internal stitches and will fall off.
I was also worried re feeling so very tired but again as we have all been told he reassured me par for the course!
I had a hormone implant during the op as both ovaries were removed. It should last 6 to 9 months but he has told me to use patches if i start getting symptons before I can get back to see him..
Has anyone else had this??
Went out for dinner, last night, first night out since 4 weeks, felt great!!
Out for friends birthday lunch today yeh, enjoying some time off now!!
Hope my feelings last and extreme tiredness and boredom stays away!
Have a great day!!

good morning Ladies.
well, after my episode yesterday i reclined in my recliner all evening and ended up taking 2 pain pills. went to bed at 11pm and slept in bed. woke up several times, moved around a lot from side to side and laying on back. but i woke up this morning feeling better i thought. took a shower and came back to the living room. well, i sat down in the recliner and here comes the pain again. so, i am reclining again and i guess i will call the doc when they open at 8 just to make sure i am telling them what is going on and see what they tell me. i don't hurt as much as i did yesterday but i only sat down so i don't know if its going to get worse. i am so disappointed and worried that i hurt something. i still cannot believe that i did that. both my dh and pastor were both encouraging me telling me that it was just an accident. i was certain that my dh would fuss at me but he was wonderful to me. well, thanks for the well wishes.

Mew: That's the best thing you can do to call your doc. Please don't fret about what you did...it happens. It's a good sign that that the pain is less today than yesterday.

Being that today is Holy Thursday, it's a good time to start to meditate and reflect on the Passion of Our Lord. There is no greater love than the one that He showed us!

Relax, rest up, and God Bless!

Hello to All,
Irishblueeyes, good luck to you and know that you are in our thoughts. I often ask how much can one person take? Life will prove that it is a heck of a lot and we'll still wind up standing tall. God Bless us all in good times as well as in adversity.

Mew, hope all is well and that you did no damage. Rest up.
