Pressure??

Does anyone have a extreme amount of pressure or discomfort while sitting? I feel best when laying in the bed. When I sit in the chair I have pains. At first I thought it was from being constipated but since that isn't the issue anymore...

Extreme pressure whilst sitting ~ anyone else?

I'm still pretty tender when sitting, especially if I have been up for a while and have increased swelling. Sometimes it feels like I am sitting on a rolled up wash cloth. I'm particularly sensitive to the swelling in the rectal area when I have swelling and my bowels are a bit full, because I had a lot of repairs there, just too much stuff to sit on comfortably. I have a couple of deep chair pads that go about the house with me

Extreme pressure whilst sitting ~ anyone else?

It took amost 4 weeks before I could sit comfortably - I had pressure and sometime stabbing pains on either side of my incision when I sat longer that 20 minutes. I got so that I would slump in my chair (at home and at restaurants - nice image!) just to get comfy some how. Then the pain just seemed to fade away after a month, and one week later I was able to sit on a 3 hour flight with no issues! So it does get better - hopefully sooner for you!!

Yup, count me in. I have problems with hard chairs. I need cushion. Try sitting at the rink for two hours... ouch! I find I'm most comfortable lying on my side.

Sounds pretty normal.......when I first came home from the hospital, I mistakenly thought sitting would be as restful/healing as lying down. WRONG!!! I guess it just puts too much pressure on your abdominal/groin area. Surround yourself w/pillows and LIE down.

Thanks Girls!!

Thank you for the info....I was being to think it was me. I have been trying to sit on pillows, they help some. But nothing like laying in the bed on my side.
