A few questions for 3wks post-op

Loves To Run,

I put the microwave to work, too! When I have about 8 minutes left of walking, I put in a cup of tea to heat for two minutes . That way I know when my walking time is up, I can sit and relax with it! I guess simple pleasures are where you find (or make) them.

A few questions for 3wks post-op

Hi
If you go into the post surgery section, they have VERY useful articles on what is and isnt ok at which weeks. I've been using those carefully. (I'm one of the ones who is walking a lot--but then, I used to do 4 cardio workouts a week presurgery, plus weights and yoga. And that is ALL I do--I don't lift stuff, I lie down a lot during the day, I nap --don't think that the walking is on top of lots of other stuff. But my doc said it was better to walk a lot and then nap a lot, to regain strength, than to just potter around. ) I think the thing that is really a problem is anything that uses ab muscles because that is where you end up creating adhesions.
And there is a really good article on adhesions in that section too....
And if in doubt, ask your docs...I email mine...
Deb

Hi policymuse! I feel better now that I know you were very active before the surgery and that you still have to rest alot during the day. Good for you for taking such good care of yourself. I hope you continue to have great success with your recovery.
