Thats okay LTR... we all suffer from it ... Thank goodness my girlfriend had just gone thru this last year and she was a great help in pre-op shopping plus what to take to the castle...

Swollen tummy ~ how do you all cope?

I am beginning wk 4. Swelly belly very uncomfortable & very tired of wearing sweat pants. Can't wait to get into a pair of jeans. I keep wondering when the swelling will go down, and what is up with this flap of skin above incision that is swelled?

Swollen tummy ~ how do you all cope?

Hi Cillywilly,

YES, I also have this flap of skin that is totally swelled just right above my incision.... it looks so wierd. I have that flap of skin, and then it goes in like normal and then my swelly belly starts... it's like I have these 2 humps... my swelly belly and then that swollen flap of skin above the incision.

Does anyone else have that (who had a bikini cut)? Wonder how long it takes for that little flap of skin to go down and look normal?

I have the same flap too!!! But when I push on it, it's very soft like swelling. Yuck though - when does that go away???

Well, now i know that is not some weird thing with just me. that flap looksk SO weird. Although, I hate to touch it... it is totallly numb on me, and I still get this eerie feeling when I touch the part that is numb.... ugh. I know I'll get used to it, but I'm not used to it yet. I just want my flat and fit tummy back!! ugh.

Swollen tummy ~ how do you all cope?

Ladies-- I had the same frustrations about clothing and swelling and finally gave up and bought some running pants in the men's department. The women's sizes were all made to fit snugly and be curvy, but I just wanted something with an elastic waist that was comfortable and didn't look like pajamas! The men's pants are working great.

For the swelling I've tried both ice and heat packs with varying results. I notice it is ten times worse when I am on my feet all day so I've been trying to rest in the afternoon. If anyone has any miracle cures for this I'd love to know it, but I suspect patience is the only answer! Hang in there!

I also have a swollen tummy after 15 days post-op. I've been wearing granny undies and loose lounge pants. I'm also still wearing my abdominal
binder. I can't wait to start wearing jeans again because that is my staple wardrobe.
