Three weeks post op

I went back to work on day 13 and did just fine until this week. I only have a 10 minute drive to work, small town. I just have to come to terms with the fact that I have to rest and take care of myself. It seems it would be easier if the incissions were not healed, more of a visible reminder to take it easy. I think this weekend will be perfect to rest, take a couple of walks and rest again!! Thanks for the advice.

Three weeks post op

All of a sudden being tired after 3 weeks? Pretty darn normal, I think. I'm 9 1/2 weeks out, and just from reading posts on this forum, I've found out all of us hit "brick walls" at various points. You'll be feeling great and ready to get back to a normal schedule, and than WHAM, you're exhausted! I still spend most weekends resting up from the week.

I'm glad to hear that your dr. suggested this site. My dr. kinda blew it off when I mentioned it to him. In every other way, he's been wonderful, but I thought he would want to let his other patients know how helpful this site has been.

Good luck to you!

Three weeks post op

I am so relieved to find out these feelings are normal. I was beginning to worry that I had over done it, and maybe I had, but in listening to responses to my Thread, I will now try to take it easy and let my body tell me when to push on!

My doctor suggested the site at the first indication I would need surgery, he said it was better than any info he could give to me. I had kind of put it on the back burner what with my other surgery pending, but went back in this week and realized how much information I had open to me. I will be sure and let him know at my next followup how helpful it actually has been!

I am now just about 4.5 weeks post op. My back and belly are just now showing signs of improvement. We were out of town over the weekend and I did alot of shopping with my sisters, lots of walking around and I did get a little sore, but I am really feeling like the fatigue is getting better.

Just try to take it easy and it will get better.
