Hi Ladies, I just wanted to say that my Dr. has given me the all clear to resume normal activities. He doesn't want me to conquer the world all at once, but I can start exercising again to build up stamina. I can't ride until I am stronger, but he will let me be the judge of that.

We were cleared for sex, and he said that it shouldn't hurt. Well, if does, and on further examination it seems that I have some sort of tear at the entrance to my vaginal. Anyway, back to the Dr. next week. I share this with you because I was hesitant to call the Dr. and just work through it. They said no, there SHOULD NOT be any pain so they need to see me. I am sure it will all resolve and be fine. But, I just want to say, if it hurts call. Don't try to work through it until you know for sure what is going on.

Have a great day ladies

I ride horses. I hope to be back at it this week end. It is suppose to be in the 70's. So, I am working out everyday now, trying to get my strength back up.

sisterkris, yes, your op was day after mine. I still get a lot of pain - it is quite debilitating. I'm trying so hard to be positive but sometimes it is difficult. Tonight I actually shed a few tears, which is so not me. I feel like I have had pain every day for the last fourteen months, which gradually took away everything I was doing. I just pray for the day that I start to feel normal again.

Did anyone out there have any diathermy treatment, esp to rectum? That area feels so uncomfortable, it is like I am always aware of it. It's hard to explain exactly what it is like. The pain I get is back and pelvic pain, as I had before op. Sometimes down into my legs.

The good news is that today, as I think I posted earlier, the discharge seems to have disappeared. Fingers crossed it doesn't come back tomorrow!!

Hope all you ladies out there are OK. Take it easy.

Hi ladies,
I was just wondering also with my post op appt coming with my gyno what all i should be finding out too , i am suffering from hot flashes , and i had large cysts on my ovaries before they removed them ( my surgury was Feb 25, 08) I had a TAH and BSO so now i am in surgical menopause so i need some help on how to make it without hormones or any information that you ladies can give me about HRT , I am scared to take them but i dont want to be miserable everyday either.
I had large dermoid cysts on each ovarie so I still have pain in my sides once in awhile so does anyone of you ladies have any idea if i am on track for healing , i still am in some pain but certainly not like when i came home from surgury.
Also i have to get up once for sure but sometimes 2 times at night for bathroom is that normal I heard it is a symptom of menopause but i am just making sure i shouldnt be worrying about that too .

Anyone experienced bladder/vagina fistula?

(Sorry if I didn't respond to previous replies, I
didn't know my mail was turned off,
just turned it on. Hopefully I can get them now...)

Hi everybody, June here again.
6 wks post-op today, but have another
problem now.

They had to do a bladder repair after
my TAH, and a few days ago, urine started
coming out my vagina. Saw urologist
today, it's the same repair they did, just
didn't last, he said may or may not heal
on it's own, now have to wear a leg catheter
for 2 weeks & see if it will heal. If not,
I'll have to have another surgery.

NOT the news I wanted to hear.

I would appreciate any input if anyone has experience
with anything like this.

Thank you all for being such a great help to me through
this whole difficult time.....

So, so sad. Such a devastating and tragic loss. Prayers and hopes of comfort to her family. I hope she is at peace.

Today was my second day back at work; did fairly well except for the terrible headache that kept me up most of the night last night which left me very tired. Came home and crashed. I have been aching all over today. Hope I'm not coming down with something at the end of my recovery. I'm somewhat concerned about the headaches because I've been having one just about every week. Guess I'll check with my doctor if it doesn't stop soon and make sure it's not the estrogen I'm taking. I used to have terrible migraines when I took birth control pills and had to eventually stop them.

I'm very sad about Jenn. I went back and read her posts. You could just feel her sadness. I am keeping her family in my prayers.

Hope you all have a good day tomorrow and a good night's rest.

Hi Ladies,

Well, I made it through my journey to NJ - I kept making stops to be sure that my back would revolt and I did okay! It took me over 8 hours to get here and then I thought I'd be dead tired. But, oh NO! After getting some dinner, I actually did a bit of grocery shopping (not too much) and still had trouble winding down. So, I guess I did okay. I did feel a few new twinges today, but nothing too much. Nothing alarming.

Then I had a service tonight and it all went very well.

I just THANK GOD that I am getting back to normal life again. I'm just so afraid that I'm going to forget myself and lift more than I should. I did do some extra lifting yesterday - but very minimal and with great care and concern. Supposed to be increasing that, bit by bit now so I guess it's okay. My body's not squawking too much.

Well, it's very late again and I should get to bed. I am tired tonight!

Rest well, ladies and keep on getting better.

Diane
