What I've learned since having surgery

Well today is 5 wks for me. I'm sitting here with so much pelvic pain. I really thought this surgery would take all of this away. I'm so afraid my surgery was for not. I went into the surgery because of pelvic pain. I'm sooo depressed thinking what is the next step. I have pain in my lower back that blends into cramping in the front. Does anyone else feel this way?

What I've learned since having surgery

Hi there menoherone! I am sorry to hear that you are in pain. I had pelvic/groin pain after my TAH. Which type of surgery did you have? You may want to update your signature line so that others know and can comment accordingly...like did you keep your ovaries? Was your surgery due to endo or fibroids or what??

If you were given pain meds upon discharge from the hospital, are you still taking them around the clock or only as needed? I still take 800 mg of ibuprofen 2x each day, sometimes 3x depending on what kind of day I am having. Because you had major surgery your body is still settling and recovering. Internal surgeries can cause tons of inflammation and inflammation causes pain.

I would seriously consider calling your doctor and describing your pain to them. They can decide if an exam or further testing is necessary.

Please keep us posted on your recovery...I know, its NO FUN to be in pain!
