pain 20 weeks post op

It was 20 weeks last Friday since my TAH/BSO. Over the past few weeks I've been getting more pains, low down in my belly. I could describe it as a moderate period pain.

Is this normal? When can I expect it to go away?

I am 4 1/2 months post op and have severe pain in lower pelvic area. I had a TAH and kept 1 ovary. Can it be pain from a menstral cycle without the period? I sometimes feel ok, but for the past couple of days I been taking a lot of advil.

If I'm having period pains they can only be physological (and they sure aren't!) as I have no ovaries. I assume that's where period pains come from?

I would call your doctor and describe to them the type of pain you are having. Do you have a low grade fever? Any discharge? I know 20 wks seems like a long time after a surgery to have pain...but, they do say that we can expect 6 mos. up to a years's time to fully recover from a hysterectomy.

I'm at 14 wks post-op and still use a heating pad, ibuprofen and other pain meds to take care of some of the aches and pains associated with a hyster.

Seriously, call your doctor and let them know. Perhaps there is more to the story that you are not aware of.

Keep us posted!
