The worst part of recovery

I had porblems with my bladder and uretha as well. The worst part for me was the lack of sleep and the muscle spasms. Take care. Feel better soon.

The worst part of recovery

For me so far it is the bladder spasms and the gas pains. The bm's haven't been bad, although few and far between. But the gas pains... OMG Horrible horrible discomfort.

The worst part of recovery

For me.. it's been the constant low level fatigue combined with insomnia. That, and having almost no pain - which makes it difficult to keep my limitations in mind until I run smack up into them.

I figure.. if that's the worst I can complain about, then I'm doing pretty darn good.

For me its the exhaustion.. Im used to going all day long , 5am to 10pm. Now Im going to bed by 9, not sleeping well, but not getting up till 730 or 8, and still taking a 2 hour nap in the afternoon. Cant imagine going back to work yet, but planning to try very part time next week.( 5weeks post op.)

The worst part of recovery

After 7 months post op the worst part of my recovery that I remember was a week after my surgery the percicet pain meds made me constipated and I couldn't BM. I did before I left the hospital but after I got home there was a problem. I ended up having to use a suppository and I finally went. I couldn't strain either because with the 8 inch incision I have it was too tender. Anyway, the energy level for me didn't come back until probably 3 or 4 months out. I enjoyed relaxing and having people wait on me. Ladies please enjoy your relaxing times. You will be wanting it once you are getting back to doing daily stuff.

The worst part of recovery

For me it was the right-sided buring, stabbing pains. It felt like there was no end in sight and I started to become depressed over it (it's better!!). Fatigue comes in a close second.

God bless,

For me - it's definitely the pain when going to the bathroom. I asked my doctor about this yesterday at my check-up and she said it's my bladder sitting on the vaginal cuff incision. She said it is completely normal and will last up to four weeks - yeah. I thought for sure I had a bladder infection but I guess not. Also the BM are going slow. Having one every three days now. Trying to get off pain killers to regulate system. Prunes and stool softners are working slowly.
Isn't it great that we have a site we talk about such things!

The worst part of recovery

The worst part for me was an infection I developed post op. Along with all the pains, fever, insomnia and exhaustion, I felt even worse from the infection until I got on antibiotics. Now 3 weeks post op, it is trying to take it easy so I will heal right.

The worst part of recovery

For me it's being exhausted! I'm tired but can't seem to sleep. I'm also having a hard time getting my blood glucose back to normal range (I'm diabetic) It's been really low since surgery even though I'm following same diet as before. I did too many laps around the house Tuesday and really paid for it Wednesday! I think I'll behave from now on!

Fortdawn you're about a week post op and you need to be careful. Give your body the rest it needs while healing inside as well as outside. Don't overdo it. Take your time and be pampered. I still have nights when I wake up and can't get back to sleep. That's a hormone thing I think or part of the menopause process.
