The worst part of recovery

Well, I'm 10 days post op(Feb26th), and my tummy still hurts. I started cleaning the house the other day and started to feel like crap again. My doc told me I can drive and lift things after a week. I have the LAPO super cervical. I kept my left ovary, and my cervix.

I still can't go number 2 on my own, I have to use warm water enemas every morning.

Gas still hurts. I still get hot flashes, I'm guessing cause of the 3 month lupron I had to take to shrink the fibroid.

I still have clear liquids coming out of my vagina, the doc said that was from the lupron....

I hope this all goes away very soon. I'm ready to go back to work....

Now I feel like the top part of my tummy is upset, like I've eaten something that I shouldn't. That's been happening a lot.

My advice is to try and stay off the pain meds if you aren't already off of them. They really contribute to the problem.
Good luck!
I have a few pain meds left, may I ask how that contributes to the problem?

Most of the narcotic pain meds cause constipation and the pains associated with that (including the trapped gas). HTH.

The worst part of recovery

It has been a week. I feel so weak and fluish. I have had problems with rls and finally took my meds for that but it has not helped alot. Thought I was going to get on a plane and go on a trip with the hubby this morning....ended up sending him on his own. That was probably a very smart call because I have not been able to keep food down or anything. He should get back later this evening I hope so I am dying to have my feet rubbed they are hurting so badly. Right now I am trying to eat cereal out of the box. I feel horrible.

Prescription pain medication is incredibly constipating. They really should prepare us better for this, don't you agree?

Yes, I think so too. My doc didn't really tell me anything. Two weeks downtime...

[quote=Loves to Run]For me, the gas pain, the pain that comes with the BM (still happens), the deep ache in my abdomen, and the burning sensation throughout my abdomen (which I guess is the nerves) ... those are the worst for me.QUOTE]

That just about describes how I feel! I also am tired of getting up every hour and a half to pee. (day and night)

The worst part of recovery

ladyblue-eyes.... well, I'm now 4 1/2 weeks (almost 5 weeks starting Monday) post-op (not sure when I wrote into this thread originally), and now the gas pains are gone, the pain with the BM is now gone.... but I still have the deep ache in my abdomen, and the burning sensation. ugh. At least half of what used to be the worst is over, but I don't know when this other half will end!!!

So, there is hope that things DO get better... slowly, but they do get better. :-) :-) I'd say I'm about 70% better now (comparing to what I was even 2 weeks ago). It has been a slow recovery for me, but like we all say on this forum, everyone heals at a different pace. :-)

Take care!!!!

The worst part of recovery

The swellybelly and gas for me is awful!! I just keep patting my swollen belly and saying that i am giving birth to a baby elephant! Scared to get dressed to go anywhere and wondering when I will be ready to. But I read about overdoing it and then having to have surgery later on and I get so very scared. I lightly swept a bit of floor today but had my daughter pick up what I swept, then read where someone said the doc said not to sweep. Scared now!! So hard to make sure you do what you do to get better. You want to make sure you move enough to get better but don't want to move so much you hurt anything. How do we balance this?! Thanks for all who post here, it means the world. Especially tonight, DD went to stay at a friends house and I'm all alone.
