accidental kick to abdomen..post op 2 weeks

Hi Girls. I am exactly 2 weeks post op from vaginal hys. Uterus and cervix removed, ovaries remain. Healing has been excellent. However, my 8 year old joined me in my bed last night after a scary dream and unfortunately as she rolled over she kicked me with her heel (full weight of leg) into my abdomen. I'm feeling a little nauseaus and worried. Has this happened to anyone before and does anyone have any advice for me? I have some discomfort now and of course have been awake every since the incident. I have no extra bleeding, just a little more than usual cramping.
Thanks to everyone for this site! You girls are awesome!

I'm sorry you've experienced this but, sadly, accidents will happen no matter how careful we try to be.

A call to your doctor wouldn't go amiss ~ especially if the extra discomfort doesn't improve. It's always best to err on the side of caution ~ particularly this early in your recovery.

Take care and I hope it settles down very soon.

I agree, just take a moment to call your . He/she will be able to tell you to what to look out for and will be able to put your mind at ease. I have been so worried that one of my kids would bump into me, but a kick to the tummy--Ouch! Hope you are feeling better very soon!

Thank you girls. I am having a little discomfort as well as what appeared to be a drop in my sugar. I had to sit as the feeling of faint was very intense. I did put a call into the dr. Waiting on the call back now. I will keep you up to date.

Good luck. I read somewhere to always use a pillowwhen cuddling withyour kid, but who would have thought to apply that to an 8 year old?!
Please do keep us posted...

accidental kick to abdomen..post op 2 weeks

Hi everyone: I went to the dr....and I am just fine. He explained to me that since he took all my parts out of there...there really is not much left to damage. lol No internal bleeding. Just of course some excess cramping and pain. Just as a warning to everyone to be careful even with your older children...accidents can happen...when you lesat expect them! He also told me my pathology came back good. He was very happy that he took my cervix because he firmly believes I would've had bigger trouble in the future with it. I definately have no regrets whatsoever for having the surgery. Even with this little mishap, I am 2 weeks post op I overall feel great. Thank you everyone for showing such care!

Glad to hear your doctor isn't worried. I think I'd still be hyper aware of sensations and look out for the possibility of internal bleeding for another day or two. That's just me.
