Wearing Jeans

I wore jeans at 3 weeks...for about 2 hours, with a rubberband through the buttonhole...
I just hope I get to the point wher eI can wear decent clothes for work in 3 weeks!

Wearing Jeans

I had a TVH and wore my jeans from the first few days. I am so glad that I had my surgery that way.

Wearing Jeans

I wore jeans for the first time at about week 4. I am pretty comfortable in them and can wear them all day. I still have some swelling and I haven't tried on my really skinny jeans. I don't think they'd be comfortable at this point, and if I have to struggle to zip them, I wouldn't want to wear them.

Thanks for all the replies! I can see that it's dependent on what type of surgery you had. Being that mine was a TAH, I guess I'll see how it goes - or I might have to go to the store and get the dreaded "demin-with-elastic-waist" type! LOL

ha ha this is funny to read. Why do you ask??? I did not even think about the fact that I will not be able to wear my jeans! I only own one pair of warm ups at least ones that I can wear outside the house! I can not beleive that I did not think aboout what to wear! I guess I will have to go shopping as soon as I can.

I think I will be like some of you above, my stomach is soooo sore there is no way I will be putting jeans on. So I guess I better find something to wear???

Wearing Jeans

I'm 3 weeks 5 days post op, and I can't even imagine wearing my jeans right now. My whole abdomen is so tender still. It might also depend on how people normally wear their jeans. If you are used to wearing loose or baggy jeans, then maybe that is why some can wear them earlier (or maybe not.. just a guess). But, if you're used to wearing tighter jeans (like me), it might take longer.

But, I have lots of cute sweats and other things like that that I can wear for now.

Renee --- That is amazing you've lost 35 lbs!!!! Wow.... and in 7 weeks. Good for you. I bet you had to go out and buy all NEW jeans... that has to be a few sizes smaller for sure. Good for you. :-)

Like Sharon said, I am not used to wearing my lounging pants outside of bed and I too feel like I am wearing my PJ's all the time. This evening we had to go to an event and the elastic waist lounge pants just weren't appropriate. I raided my closet and found a pair of loose waisted khaki's. They've always been a little too big so I never wear them. I wore them tonight but after a couple of hours, couldn't wait to get them off. Also, like Sharon, I either don't wear underwear or I wear my large granny panties, and I'm not even close to trying my jeans. Ouch!

Wearing Jeans

I started back wearing my jeans during my fourth week. That was just wearing them briefly and putting my comfortable clothes back on as soon as possible. Yesterday and today I wore jeans most of the day and while driving I had to undo the button so it wouldn't hurt my stomach.
I'm so excited. I got for my six week appt on Tues March 4 and am praying I can get a real tub bath

Wearing Jeans

I am 3 weeks 2 days post-op and I can't wear my jeans yet, I tried one time about a week ago and they seemed to fit fine, but after having them on for about 2 hours, when I got home they were taken off ASAP.

Now its been over a week since I tried wearing them I don't go out that much and usually wear sweats and such just around the house. So I am not sure if I they would be more comfortable now.

Believe me, I have lost this weight not a second too soon. I just have never been one to diet. This surgery has changed my life in ways I never expected. Fear of constipation has drastically altered my food intake.

A friend of mine had gastric bypass surgery a few months ago and told me that they are told to have their clothes taken in and only buy a few new items since they will continue to loose weight. That's the approach I am taking. Since my hysterectomy, I have changed the way I eat and I am enjoying this new me.
