Wearing Jeans

I am ancient and you're right I don't wear my jeans tightly at all so of course I was able to wear them right away. I also think that TVH without the incision problems and swelly belly really help with being able to wear jeans more quickly.

Well, good for you Renee!! You are an inspiration to many women here, I'm sure!!

So, all this talk about jeans, I tried on a pair of mine last night, and I had them on for about 10 seconds and was SO happy to take them off. HAHA!!! I think it has to do with the style of jeans I wear. I wear pretty low cut jeans where the waist pretty much hits my incision area.... and my whole abdomen area where things were removed.

So, it's gonna be a while yet.... no big deal. Luckily here in Seattle it's very casual and you can get away even wearing nicer sweats to restaurants, etc. :-) You could even go to the grocery store wearing Pajama bottoms and nobody would bat an eyelash.... so luckily I don't feel pressure to wear my jeans any time soon!! :-)

I just hope there is a day when i can wear them an not hurt! haha.

I'm five days post op and I was able to put on jeans today. Woohoo!
I wasn't doing well at all with lounge pants and sweats.

It took me four weeks to get into my jeans and it still wasn't comfortable because I couldn't stand the zipper touching my skin. So I wore a tank top tucked in my jeans and then a binder on top of that whenever I went somewhere. I know what you mean about the pj's and loungewear. You just want to feel like yourself again.

I'm only 4 days post-op and I'm already tired of the loungewear. But, there's no way I could fit into my jeans yet.

Wearing Jeans

I started wearing jeans (snug) at about 10 days. I only wore them part of the day, though. By a week later I wore them all day.

But, my jeans sit right at my belly button and are actually supposed to sit "below the waist". I am just so short waisted and so long legged that they don't fit like they should. So, I suppose I have more room than normal a the waist.

I was one of those that couldn't stand the lounge pants. They have always made me feel naked. I made my husband help me put my bra on just a few hours afer surgery. I need to be able to feel my clothes to be comfortable. If they are loose I am miserable.

I had a TVH 02/22 and started wearing my jeans at 1 week post op. I think it's not having the incision that makes it work!

I put jeans on for the first time last night (2 weeks post-op) but I agree with the other ladies, comfortable they were not..I went to a concert here in town and couldn't go in yoga pants or jammies...I had them on from 7 - 11 and couldn't wait to get my jammies on afterwards. My jeans were not tight, but just the uncomfort around the incision..felt like I added pressure to it.

I am 4 and half weeks out, and wore my elastic type jeans for a few hours twice this week. They fit, but after a couple of hours becam uncomfortable (swelling belly I think.) It did give me hope.

It's funny how we all have so much in common yet can be so different in this land of hyster!

I am 8 weeks today. I had a TVH (so no incision) and kept my ovaries. I can only wear my jeans for a short period of time without becoming too uncomfortable. Walking around the grocery store yesterday I could feel my belly swell and I had on sweats. But, it is better and I can go longer than I did last week. I've also been sick with a virus this past 10 days and on a lot of meds so that may have set me back some. I'm feeling better today and hope that by next week I can start getting back into a regular routine.
