Wearing Jeans

After my TVH, I was back in all my clothes including jeans comfortably after 4 weeks. Today is 4 weeks since my abdominal incision and there is no way I could / would be wearing jeans. My belly is still swollen and like LTR, I wear them low cut and they would sit too close to my incision.

I too am tired of sweats but oh well, hopefully after 2 more weeks when I go back to work, most things will fit.

Starbgirl,

I will let you know how this goes, but I just bought (online... so i didn't try them on) a pair of jeans that I normally wear but in one size bigger. They are the low cut jeans that you also wear... I'm HOPING they might work. If not, then oh well... I'll just look at it as having a "really comfy baggier" pair of jeans to wear on my "frumpy" days when I am able to wear jeans again. :-)

But, at this point, I'm 4 1/2 weeks post-op, almost 5, and there's still no way I could wear my jeans that are currently in my closet. bummer! i don't know when that day will come... May????

Someone just posted that their swelly belly was gone in 12 weeks. Of course I have seen others say 6 m or a year. Healing must be highly individual.
But it WILL pass! We just don't know when...

Wearing Jeans

Well, I gave in. I had to attend a small church function last night, and I really didn't feel like attending with my sweats, so I pulled on a nice, but broken-in pair of jeans that had that "stretchy" material woven in....and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! Either I lost some weight (tho the scale doesn't indicate it) or the swelly belly had lessened over the past week (hard for me to really tell since I'm a plus-sized lady).

I don't think I'll be wearing them on a daily basis - but it's nice to know now that I can go out without looking too frumpy!

This is kinda of a silly question, but I had my TAH eleven days ago, and I'm getting tired of wearing either my pjs or loose sweats. I miss my jeans! When were some of you able to start wearing your jeans again?
My surgery was 2/15. I just wore jeans today for the first time. I only lost 2 lbs but due to some swelly belly I purchased jeans 1 size larger. I agree, I was tired of PJs and sweats also.

I was able to wear jeans today that have half of the waist elastic. I have also lost a little weight since surgery so I'm sure that helped. They are actually very comfortable and I think I will start wearing them regularly until I can get back into my pre-op clothes. I am soooo sick of the stupid elastic waist yoga type pants.
