Steri-Strips (12 days post op) When will they "fall off"

Mine hung in there for 7 weeks. My Dr was amazed and thought they'd be gone after a week.

Thank you for your replies

I really appreciate you all posting your various experiences. I am a creature of organization and consistency and one of the things that is REALLY bothering me is the variation we are all experiencing..starting at bowel prep

I guess I needn't worry then, and I did get the top one of three off in the shower yesterday..I have to confess that I pulled it off...I'm a little hesitant to remove the last two that are over the scar..I'm being a big wiener.. ROTFL..

This site has been my saving grace, I'll say that!!!

Steri-Strips (12 days post op) When will they "fall off"

My doc put steri strips on my incision after she removed the 14 staples I had at my 1 week post-op appt. She told me to keep them on for about 5 days then I could take them off. I actually left them on for a week and a half. My incision is really itchy but otherwise looks wonderful.

Steri-Strips (12 days post op) When will they "fall off"

My doc said I could take them off at 1 week, but since I have had other incisions open, I decided to leave them, or to take them off only when they were half way off. Last one came off about week 4 and a half, and the incision looks great, no open wound or sign of infection.

Steri-Strips (12 days post op) When will they "fall off"

I just had my 6 week today and the DR had to remove most of them. She was shocked and commented that they were a little "old". I told her I was scared to take them off for fear of my scar!!! She said don't worry, it won't open. I still have scabs, but other then that she said it looked great!

Steri-Strips (12 days post op) When will they "fall off"

My dr. removed my steri-strips at my 2nd office visit (20 days post-op). They were still pretty much stuck on me and for me it hurt more than when my staples were removed.

Steri-Strips (12 days post op) When will they "fall off"

My doctor told me my steri-strips would come off on their own. But, I'm only 13 days post op so maybe they're not ready yet. I'm afraid to pull them off. I'll see what my doctor says at my two-week appointment on Friday.

Steri-Strips (12 days post op) When will they "fall off"

26 days here and i did get the strips off on my own. The belly button one I WILL NOT TOUCH. It is still there and looks gross. I pick little pieces but it is soooo sore still. Seems like that would be infection causing but I guess not.

Steri-Strips (12 days post op) When will they "fall off"

I had staples for the first week then the Dr put the strips on after the staples came out and told me to remove the strips after 1 week.

Steri-Strips (12 days post op) When will they "fall off"

Mine came off about 2 weeks post-op...The itching wasn't that bad....the best thing to do is be patient and not pick at them...if you are taking a shower daily, don't worry the water pressure will help them come off easily enough.
