How long to wait for sex

I went in at 5 weeks and 2 days and she said two more weeks. That will be this Wednesday but I'm getting more and more anxious as the time approaches. She said there was still an area that wasn't healed when I went in and that all should be fine in two weeks. I think about it all the time and I am a nervous wreck. It has been a lot longer than the 7 weeks since we've been intimate for physical reasons.

I feel like I'm 18 again---- scared to death.

I'm scared too. Hubby is gone this week, but next weekend will be close enough to 6 weeks since he will only be home for a few hours before he heads in another direction for another conference. We plan to make the best of those hours, but I'm scared, especially since I checked last night and can still feel one big stitch that hasn't dissolved and doesn't feel like it is going anywhere anytime soon. It is the stitch I know about, but it makes me wonder if there are others that I don't know about.

This stitch, which feels like it is an inch across, (although I know it isn't that big,) was a problem when I was using internal antibiotics for my cuff infection. I kept getting the applicator hung up on it until I learned to get passed it. Touching it isn't really painful anymore, more like having someone stick their finger in my belly button, (I have a very sensitive belly button that feels like there is a nerve right at the surface.) Not a sore painful, just an intense electric feeling, but not really good one.

<Sigh> I don't want our first time post op to just be getting it over with.

How long to wait for sex

I had TVH on 2/7/08 and just did the deed 2 days ago. So it was actully only 3.5 weeks post op. I havent had any bleeding for a week and at my 3 week check up the doc told me everything was healed nicely. It felt great. Didn't hurt a bit and it was such a relief.

Well, as I see it, you have a few options here. One would be to just wait until you feel ready. Of course, for some people that would result in more and more anxiety, and you would never "feel ready". But you know yourself better than anyone else. Two, resign yourself to the idea that the first time post-op is going to be "just getting it over with". If this is your choice, let your dh know that this is what's going on, and reassure him that once you're sure it doesn't hurt, you can have a nice slow session in which you are very nice to him! ;-) Three, let your dh know that you are nervous and concerned, get him on board, tell him what he can do to "romance" you (candles? flowers? some wine? a back rub? whatever works for you) so you can relax and enjoy yourself. See if you can get his reassurance ahead of time that any time you say "Stop", he'll stop! You may not feel this is necessary, but it may provide that emotional reassurance you need to just relax and enjoy yourself. If you know that he'll stop if you say so, that you are in control, you probably won't have to say stop.

Best of luck!
