8 months post op side effects???I

I had a TAH on 6/27/07, everything up until about a month ago was great, no problems. Now, my face is breaking out, I've gained weight, my chest is way bigger than it used to be. What's going on, anyone with these symptoms...or should I call the dr.

I am a couple weeks ahead of you, but I'd guess hormones. I haven't had these problems specifically - my weight has bounced around but I tend to retain fluid. So will gain a week or 2 and then drop it all.

I was having issues with hormones (like extreme pms-ing with hot flashes and night sweats) and my pcp put me on prozac. We've had to adjust the dosage but does seem to be helping reduce all the symptoms.

I'd call the dr to be sure. Oh yeah - I ended up going to my primary because when I tried to talk to my gyn about it 2-3 times - his comment was always "I didn't touch your ovaries." I cannot take HRT so guess he wasn't thinking beyond that.

Rose - Has your eating changed or are you on Medication that could cause weight gain. I would talk to the DR.

I didn't have any of these symptons as a matter of fact the opposite happend to me. I lost weight and went down a whole bra size.

Like I said talk to your Doctor. I'm sure things will work out.

Also I am not on HRT I can't take it either. I do have hot flashes at night.

I have noticed in the last month or so extreme sweating at night. It is happening almost every night. I wake up soaking wet. I also notice I am not sleeping very well either. Waking up an awful lot. So tomorrow I am going to my gyn to discuss some options as to what to do. Will see what she suggests.

Sounds like your hormones are not balanced! What hormones are you on? I am 7 months post-op and still trying to find balance. This is not an easy job! See if you can get your hormones tested. That will help know where your at.

Since the New Yr...and I had my LSH surgery July 2, 2007...my body has started in with the PMS symptoms that I used to have along w/my period. My tummy is really bloated and my chest is tender and swelling...not a pleasant feeling at all, my face too is breaking out. I go in for a yearly ck-up next month but I must say I am frustrated too.

It sounds like I should give my dr. a call. Since I kept my ovaries I don't take any hormones or medications. Thanks everyone, I'll let you know what I find out.

Well I went to my gyn the other day to talk about my night sweats. My options are slim. She said I could go on a low dose of hormones, however because of my fibrocystic breast disease it would aggravate it and I would be in lots of pain. So that is out. We talked about the other option which is just to tough it out and she suggested also to up my calcium and to start taking 2000 IU of vitamin D So that is what I am going to try and see how that goes. I also have been running my ceiling fan at night and that seems to help. My psychiatrist has suggested I take 2 xanax at night for sleep . Wish me luck. I will need it, Take care and blessings to all.
