No interest, thought or feeling of sexual behavior

I have had a Hysterectomy for 10 years, sexuality is non existant, very hard for me and my husband. The problem is me, I have no interest, thought or feeling of sexual behavior. However, at times I may actually have an orgasim if time (alot of time) is taken. Although, I miss the feeling of arousal. When I asked my female doctor about it she said I had a choice of treating depression and mood, or sexual activity. Well I chose depression and mood. Another female doctor before this one when I asked the queastion she gave me a psych test. Go figure. The only time I have had any over the top sexual feeling was when I was perscribed Oxy Cotin for dental pain. The problem is, is Oxy Cotin is highly addictive. Any Advise?

Trasi,
I think that I def. would not go the route of oxycotin. Most would tell you to try testosterone to increase desire. That seems to work for alot of ladies but it didn't work for me. It turned me into a little mean green hulk for the days I was on it. I quit after about 4 days or so. When I started on some vaginal estrace it seemed to spark my desire when I put a little more in. So estradiol has helped me but I am not near where I should be yet. I never did have a strong sex drive all my life so this is ok for me.

I was on Prozac many years ago and had anorgasmia (difficulty achieving orgasm) because of it.

I didn't notice the problem, but my dh complained.. he said I took too long !?

When I told my psychiatrist, she gave me a prescription for something to take about 30 minutes before we planned to have sex. It supposedly was short acting and would counter act the Prozac for a couple of hours or so.

I never used it.. I don't like "planning" sex.. takes the romance out of it, but if you think the depression medications are causing your problems, you might ask your doc about either changing your meds or giving you something short acting to counteract the depression medication.
