Granular Tissue

I just went to my 6 week post op and I had the same thing. I think it means that some of the tissue did not heal correctly and the silver nitrate helps the healing process. I've had some bleeding since it and that's the first bleeding i've had this whole time. It's sort of stopping now. Maybe someone else can tell us exactly what it means.

I didn't experience this myself but I know there are many ladies here who have and I hope more will be along soon to share!

In the meantime, you may like to check out our HS article <link> Vaginal Cuff Granulation.

Hope this helps!

Granular Tissue

I have been treated for granulation with the silver nitrate 3 times. At 5 weeks, 8 weeks and 10 weeks. I am now 11 weeks. My dr explained it as scar tissue that has grown over unhealed areas of the cevical cuff preventing it from healing completely. I go back in 3 weeks for another check-up and hopefully it will all be gone. 2 days after the last treatment I finally stopped bleeding. I had been spotting since the day after my hyst.

Granular Tissue

Thanks Poodle, the article was a help. I had no symptoms, my dr found it at my 6 week appointment. She said she doesn't need to see me now for 6 months, so since I didn't know I had a problem in the first place, how would I know if it comes back or doesn't heal like donna47 experienced? Any help would be great.

Granular Tissue

wvuvavt, I knew that mine had not healed because the bleeding never stopped. It was really just spotting bright red. I never had any other symptoms. After the last treatment that finally stopped so I hope that it is finally all healed. I do go back in 3 weeks for another checkup. If it worries you I would call and ask for one last checkup. But from what I understand if granulation continues your sex life will become an issue because it will cause bleeding.
