10 days to go. My husband has said he will take whatever is needed to help me but I'm concerned that there must be some limit to what his employer will allow him to take and he hasn't yet found out how many days that will be. My daughter said to me on Friday night she was going to do a great long list of things yesterday to help prepare. Guess how many she did? Ok - an incredible - zero - she decided to go out with friends and left me to do all the prep for our visitors that arrived and are staying with us for next 4 days. I am quietly freaking out and really really exhausted. I feel sick from all the symptoms and am heartily sick of pain. Feel like I didn't even get a weekend and now back to work in the morning. The one thing I am looking forward to is some rest. Planning to cook and clean over Easter to get ready. Feel a bit depressed all round really. Was sitting in church this morning and the risk of the surgery suddenly struck me very hard. The tears kept running down my cheeks uncontrollably and I looked like an emotional train wreck. I just really want to be well. Today not a good day.

Oh Italy,
That's another one of the beautiful things about this site, everyone understands. I know exactly what you are feeling, and I am not sure there is anyone in my life right now that understands besides my sisters here.

I'm sending you a big for today. I hope you have a relaxing day today. (I personally was a complete bum yesterday.) Just keep posting here and venting if you need to. We're here for you!!

12 days to go!! (I didn't post yesterday )

11 days to go!!

What I love about this site is everyone shares what's going on in their lives and it makes me realize I am not alone with my problems! When I go in for my surgery I am taking a list of all of you and will be thinking of you. I don't have a laptop so it might be a couple of days before I can post and tell my experience/how I'm doing. Annessa - I guess I'm feeling a little sentimental too. And sometimes a church family is the best family to have!

I totally did my cleaning yesterday, I even scrubbed the floors with a sponge!

Italy, I just saw your post. Don't be sad! What has helped me is reading the posts on the post op board. I was/am so nervous and scared, but reading that everyone makes it through ok has really calmed me down. Everyone will have their own individual experience, but all in all things will be okay. Trust in God and everything will be in His hands!

It's getting really close I can't believe it. For a while it felt like the day would never come.

We went grocery shopping yesterday and I bought some things for after. I got some ideas from a list on here. I am going to make some homemade chicken soup. Just chicken broth that I bought at Sams club in bulk and throw some little ring noodles in there and I also bought some chicken in bulk so I'll cook that and shread it up into the soup. I also bought a bunch of cheep leftover containers so I could make up a bunch of meals and freeze them.

I'm going to make up a bunch of containers of boneless chicken and mashed potatoes besides the soup and rice and chicken. I read that chicken is easy to digest. For at first right after though I bought jello, apple sauce, frozen waffles, pudding, crackers. This afternoon I'm going to start working on the chicken and mashed potatoes.

The list that was posted on the site for foods to eat right after surgery is this: I have most of this stuff except for the sherbet and milkshakes and yogurt, dairy doesn't always agree with me.

Chicken noodle soup
Cottage cheese
Cranberry juice
Macaroni and cheese
Mashed potatoes

Hey Michelle, thank for the reminder. I wasn't even thinking of what to buy for after the surgery. And all that stuff sounds good too! I am doing my shopping this coming weekend. I know, bad weekend, everyone will be buying last minute things for Easter.

This is a great place to be. Now I don't feel so weird about a few tears on the way to the grocery store this morning. I was wondering what that was all about.

I checked into renting a recliner this afternoon. Too expensive. I went to Craig's list and found lots of them. Very excited! Just want to make sure at work no one has one sitting in their garage or a spare room I could borrow.

Thanks for the lists of foods.

ONE DAY TO GO!!! Ladies, I'm really really scared :-( I mean, I'm fine with having the hyst, it needs to be done, but I'm scared of having the surgery itself (if that makes any sense).

Bags are packed, a pot of vegetable soup is cooking in the crockpot, and now all I need is temporary tattoo of a four leaf clover or something representative of st. patty's day and I'll be good. I have to be at the castle at 10 am in the morning
