Return to Work after TVH
I am a dog groomer and am into my second week of recovery from a TVH. I am planning on taking 8 weeks but am still nervous about the lifting required when I start back. I am afraid to cause any problems internally especially with adhesions. Is 8 weeks long enough?

Return to Work after TVH
I had a TVH and returned to work at 5 1/2 weeks. However mine is a sedentary job and did not involve any lifting.
Due to the posterior repairs, I had extended lifting and straining restrictions once I was released to resume most of my regular activities, and would not have been allowed to lift animals heavier than 10 lbs.
Considering the nature of your work, you should discuss this with your doctor: he/she may be in a position to extend your sick leave. If that is not a possibility, would it possible for you to return to light duties Some employers have the hability to provide such arrangements.

Return to Work after TVH
I had a TAH and my doc lifted my 10 lb. restriction after 6 weeks. However, he told me to take things slowly. I'd discuss your concerns with your doc.

Thanks for sharing your stories, I see the doc in a few weeks so will definitely ask. Since it is my own business I can take as much time as I need, but hard to keep stalling people.
