Your first 'outing' after surgery

Day 5 post-op I had my boyfriend drive me to the beach, which is just minutes away, and where I felt like a nice walk. But, as has been suggested, the walk was nice, the car ride was NOT under the best of circumstances, so pick someplace close.
It is also true that the exhaustion comes on so fast it it best to do short jaunts.

Just a question on your signature said your ovaries were taken due to mulitple fibroids. Why would they take your ovaries for fibroids, which affect the uterus???

Maybe I am misunderstanding ...

Your first 'outing' after surgery

Well I'm 4 days postop and I am going bananas couped up here in this house. My DH had taken the youngest to daycare yesterday and today and she cried both days. I decided to pick her up early and get her some Wendy's. The daycare and Wendy's are very close. Oh I also went to the bank and a little Italian market that just opened up. After I got home I ate dinner and took a nap.

Just don't have the energy to do a whole lot yet.

Tonight was the first night I actually made dinner since before surgery.

Your first 'outing' after surgery

For me, I think it was a week or so after surgery before I did anything outdoors. I went to my office to say hello to my employees and then out for a quick bite for lunch. I then went home and slept for two hours.

I tried not sleeping during the day if at all possible because I did not sleep at all during the night. My GYN had to give me Ambien CR to help me get back on a better sleep pattern.
