Okay.....I have done so much complaining about my ungrateful, selfish teenage and young adult children. I just had to report that my 17 yo has been absolutely amazing!!!!

I picked him up from school, he went to the pharmacy with me, then we came home. He said, "I'm going to cut the grass"....I said wait until the weekend 'cause the backyard has to be cleaned up first (we actually have a lady that comes around once a week and cleans up the dog poop!) and the poop-scoop lady won't be here 'til tomorrow. Next thing I know I hear the lawnmower out front. Then........I hear it in the back. On his own, he actually cleaned up the backyard and cut the grass, including the weedeating!!! Plus he has to go to work at the ice cream place at 4:45. He did what was left of his homework while we were waiting at the pharmacy without being reminded. He just stayed in the car and did it!!!!! He has been so great lately, except when he called the cops on his brother Sunday night. He's turning 17 on Sunday......I hope it's not just a phase.

I'm so proud of him right now, I just had to share!!!!!

Denise, you walking patchwork quilt, why aren't you on pain pills? I still pop a Percoset when I am hurting... and usually I take one at night.
My 17 year old DS is extremely reluctant to do anything unless he gets paid for it. So he works at our pharmacy in town and also has a regular babysitting job, but wll he help ME around the ???
I have to beg, then shame him, then threaten. Sigh... owning this house is too much, and I am hoping to sell it when I have TIME.
oh, and hopefully the market will be better.... my boyfriend helps me take care of it but it is lots of expense and maintenence- I stayed here after my divorce so my son could graduate High School with the friends he has known all his life.

Thank you for the questions; as far as the follow up nothing is prescribed, and I am healing fine, went to a specialist and she said it is a watch and wait, which I disagree with, if there is ANY prevention meds for fibroids I would like to know now before It is too late.

I am 40 and had a TAH for severe bleeding a two large fibroids. Anymore info on uterine IVL from a pathology report would be greatly greatly appreciated. IT is rare which I know but need a very informative doc too. which finding little or no luck. I will have ct scans 1 a year for the next two years??

It is a cold wintery day here in Colorado. I love to cook so I decided when I picked up my DD from to school to go the grocery store so she could help me to get ingredents for homemade chicken soup. I love to cook so DD helped me whip up a batch smells good but now I'm hurting. I haven't taken a pain pill in a few days but tonight I might have to.

I gave birth to a 12 lb. 12 oz. baby with no drugs or pain releif....remember....I can handle this! LOL I have been relying alot on my 800 mg. ibuprofen today. I have the Percocet and Oxycontin but really haven't needed it since week 2. I've had many people comment on my high pain tollerance. I guess it's true.....I starting to beleive that I am pretty tough.

This is our third house. It's been rough taking care of them with my husband spending so much time deployed but we do what we have to do. I hire out a lot which take a hefty amount of money out of the budget but we keep up as best we can. My mom helps us out a lot, too. She actually pays for my cleaning people. Once she moved in with us she realized what I'd been fighting against for so many years. I thank God for my mom. I could not have gotten this far in my recovery without her. She is my one constant.

My 17 yo DS has only just turned a corner in the last couple of months. He has his moments but compared to what he was like before Christmas....he is a differnt kid. I think a lot of it has to do with his girlfriend. She gets him to do a lot because she knows that if he ****es me off they won't be able to see each other or go out and do stuff.

If I get the you-know-whats to get a divorce, then we'll have to sell the house 'cause I can't manage it financially on my own. I'm trying to stick things out until after ds graduates and I finish school and can manager on my own. I feel like I'm using my dh but even my dr says, "so what".....you raised his children and ran the household for years while he "saw the world". Now, it's time to take care of myself. That's what I'm doing!

Toodles,

We haven't had one home-cooked meal since I had my surgery. Cooking wasn't high on the priority list even before surgery. When I would cook, no one would be here to eat it. I plan this nice dinner, fix it all up nice, and usually found out after the fact; dh had duty, ds had to work, mom didn't feel well, other ds was staying at his friends, etc. So I finally gave up. I got sick of cooking for it to go to waste. I really do need to start fixing a lot of crock pot stuff 'cause that can sit and people can eat whenever.

The problem is that I can't stand for more than 10 minutes with being in pain and feeling like my non-existent uterus is going to fall out at any minute. I REALLY need some easy recipes that don't require a whole lot of prep (chopping stuff, opening a lot of cans, etc.) 'cause I just can't stand or sit for very long. Is there any way to recline and cook at the same time?

I live in Colorado too...these snow storms are getting in the way of my recovery. I was too depressed to leave the house today and I am afraid to drive in this because I get tense and that causes me more pain. I need some sunshine, not 1-2 more feet of snow!

My soup is not going to be pretty I bought frozen cut carrots (saved me some time) the celery and onion I cut myself but they are big pieces. DD cut the chicken usually I shred it but not today. By the time I was done I was hunched over because I was cramping. I'm sure I looked funny! Other than helping with veggies the other night I haven't cooked since my surgery. Tonight was the first time and I might be waiting for a while before I try again. Hey if you do figure out how to cook reclined let me know.
