I am laying in bed, eating peanuts and sharing them with the dog, and listening to bar review lectures online.
I have not even showered and have no plans to do so. My belly aches a bit, but ibuprofin helps.
Its nice to have all day and nothing to do sometimes.
Tomorrow I plan to resume my Saturday night DATE NIGHT with scrumptious boyfriend !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(not that we can do much more than dinner out and snuggles, but anyway)

Oh I so wish I could loan you some clothes! Because my uterus swelled so much (the muscles, actually) and because of my weight gain, I have sizes ranging from 8 to 14!

Good luck on Sunday!

Setback

Last night I kept going from cold to hot. Through the night the area around my belly button became very tender. I awoke to a red area below my belly button, temp of 99.4, and tenderness above my belly button. I called the doc and they told me to come in. They cultured the drainage and pressed on stomach....hurt!!!! Gave me a script for antibiotics and was told to call if gets worse over the weekend. Also got a script for Diflucan for the thrush. Told me to drink lots of water and take Motrin and Tylenol for the fever. It's so tender it feels like a c/s incision pain. There is a hard lump just above the belly button. I asked if it was an abscess and she said maybe. I had never seen this person turns out she is a CNP in my docs office. Guess it's watchful waiting.

I can already tell the antibiotics are going to bother me. 500mg every 6 hrs. UGH!

Sorry to hear about your latest complication, Michelle. Antibiotics hopefully will take care of the problem.... just more bother and less rest for you : (
I keep poking around my belly and my incision and I feel a bump under the incision, where it often feels "pulled" and I also wonder what is is... maybe just scar tissue forming.

I had a "bump" like that on my gallbladdar scar. It turned out that it was just one of the internal stitches that popped. 20 years later...that part of the scar is just a little wider than the rest. It doesn't hurt or anything and I was told "it happens". It could just be one of the internal stitches, maybe.
If it gets red or "hot", you might want to get it checked out.

Thanks......I can't beleive that I thought I'd be out of bed and feeling somewhat normal in two weeks. I'm not even close. I never expected recovery to be this difficult. It's the ups and downs that bother me the most.

Blessings,

End of day 9 post-op...it is 9pm at night and have not had pain meds since Tylenol at 6am this morning. Not pain free, but mild enough to give my body a rest from the drugs! I am sleeping well at night and sleeping into late morning, so that helps with feeling better. My daughter came over today for the afternoon to help me get the dining room ready for the Easter Sunday Feast! It all looks so beautiful! There will be 11 of us, and everyone is bringing food and all my husband and I have to do is have the honey baked ham ready! Easy enough! Everything in the house looks like spring and the celebration of New Life. Outside today we had a snow storm! We will see what Easter Sunday will be like! It will be my first time back out, to go to church for Easter. The car ride and the bouncing around will still be hard on the big incision that is still sore. Not sure what I will wear! The body is not back to anywhere normal yet. No matter, it will be a wonderful day no matter what! My internet connection has been having problems all day and they are coming out on Monday to look at it and see what the problem is. I have missed being able to be on this site and in touch as much as I would like. We are in our second week since we all faced that day at the castle! Still ups and downs, but everyone said it would take weeks and maybe months until we are back to our normal active selves! It is soooooo hard to be patient! Still one day at a time for me...but I am so thankful to be on this side of the surgery and heading toward feeling better than ever when all the healing is done! Being Easter this weekend really focuses on what life is all about and I am so thankful to be able to rejoice in all the blessings that have abounded toward us! Blessings to all!

8 days post-op today. I went 7 hours between pain pills yea! Of course there was some pain but I'm trying to not take it as much. I didn't sleep too good last night and I took a 2 hour nap today. It felt good to sleep I haven't been taking naps the last couple of days I guess my body needed some sleep today. I think I'll join the other ladies and make a trip to the mailbox tomorrow.

It seems like the house has kind of fell apart. I made my way down stairs today and WOW! My poor DD I started telling her what she needed to do and I heard her mumble "Mom feeling better and downstairs is not a good thing!" I made me laugh. I don't think the DD or the DH realizes that a rag could be used to wash the counter tops, that they don't just clean themselves or how envelopes from mail were not put in the trash when the trash can was only 3 steps away! LOL Oh well it could have been worse the kitchen just needed a little cleaning. Hope everyone had a good day!
