Hi ladies, I had to some reading to catch up here. Our numbers have dwindled which I take as a good sign as our sisters returning to their normal lives. Denise, good luck with the surgery. You have made some good strides and congrats on the weightloss! Good wishes to the other sisters that are still having some issues also.

I have been hanging out on the Pelvic Floor board. Since surgery I have had 4 silver nitrate treatments two weeks apart the last couple months with very little improvement. I am also having problems with my TOT sling, my body is rejecting the mesh (no visual erosion ) instead the whole thing is being pushed out that is causing great pain and had a nice allergic reaction that needed some prednisone. Ate like an ox for that week. So I spend my evenings back on my bed. But hey no more cramps or periods...lol. My surgeons referred me to a pelvic support specialist at a teaching hospital, I see her next Friday about possible removal of the sling.

Well that's me in a nutshell.

Denise, glad to hear that you are doing better with this surgery and that your life is in a better position than last time. I hope that this surgery will finally yield some good results for you.

Hopefully Shelley is having a nice vacation. I am also looking a t the possibility of having adhesions again. I have started to have daily pain again like I had prior to surgery, but it is on a lesser scale. GP said that maybe I will have to have surgery. And he had me have an EEG yesterday because of the seizure back in May. New GYN is having me continue the pelvic floor physical therapy. She prescribed Depo yesterday since it doesn't have estrogen (I think that's what she said) and said that we would see how that worked. If not, then off to a GYN that specializes in pelvic pain. After all of that, if there is no answer or I continue in the condition that I am in then off to the I go.

DH is in until the end of September, so we talk a few times a day. He is being supportive and encouraging. A lot of times I don't feel like going to all these doctor appointments, but he lovingly pushes me to go and get help.

I'm back from my vacation. I was in pain so I took alot of ibuprofen and drank lots of cocktails, hehe. That seemed to do the trick and I had some fun with the family. I have a Dr appt with my GP on Wed to discuss the report from the GI Dr. Humm can't wait to be normal like the rest of you ladies. I hope others start to feel better soon, I understand how frustrating it can be! Take care sisters. I'll check back later this week after my appt. Sure hope the Dr figures out what is wrong and will take care of it soon!

Well...Hi, girls.....I'm home for surgery #2. Here's what was done this time around:

Repair of cystocele & rectocele (again!)
Perinorraphy
cystoscopy

Everything went perfectly this time around. I went in Tuesday morning and came home Wednesday night. I'm sore but nothing like the first go around.....the GOOD NEWS.....I seem to be peeing normally. I mean I drink a lot of water and probably pee every couple of hours. Before, I could go all day. I'd pee maybe three times a day and never feel empty. Of course, there is still a lot of swelling. Thankfullly, I'm all stitched up this time. They didn't have to leave it open to heal from the inside out this time. My docs are all treating me very well. I go back for a four week postop. None of this every week stuff like last time. I'll take maybe 1-2 Percocets a day but mostly just when I've been on my feel too much. I drove today for the first time. That was a little more difficult. The driver's seat is a little hard for me delicate wounded girly parts and it doesn't allow me the ability to change positions. So I may not drive again for a few more days. It was just a 5 minute drive to p/u my son but it felt like an hour sitting on marbles!!!!

So, emotionally and physically I'm doing much, much better this time. Haven't had that dreaded first BM but I'm working on it. I'm instructed to use the peribottle to clean and hair dryer to keep things dry then I'm back to the sterile gauze and Premarin cream to help with the healing. But that's okay. It is just simply NOTHING like it was last time.

I'm going to be making two more crocheted uterus' for the two residents that have been working on my case. Other than that just enjoying the three weeks I have off from school reading for pleasure rather than the required text. I just finished "The Last Lecture" and am not working on "The Secret". Hmmmm......maybe that's the reason for everything looking up these recent weeks!

I'm working from my bed so no disability this time....thank goodness!

Oh, and last but not least, I finished the summer semester for nursing classes with A's in all of my six classes....plus I made the President's Honor Roll and Dean's List with a 3.75 GPA.

Other than the evil DH going to Afghanistan in two weeks.....everything is really good right now.

I am so happy to hear that you are doing good. You sound much better this time around. Congrats on the A's and making the honor roll and dean's list. Also, good luck with the BM. Just remember to be patient and not to strain.

Hi Everyone,
Well.....I just got back from my latest Dr. Appt. I have been having problems very similar to yours Denise. I was instructed to use the Premarin cream hoping this would stimulate the walls of the vagina muscles, to hold the bladder up. It seems to have dropped (which I felt), and the cream has not made really any change.
Now it seems that my diogansis is vaginal vault prolapse. It seems the vagina has completely dropped and has taken the bladder with it. It was a 50/50 chance that either the bladder or rectum would have went with it. So now I must have another surgery to repair the problem. He is going to attached the bladder to a legiment on the right side that runs down my leg. Very interesting and amazing what they can do. So for now I will stay the same until I decide to go ahead with the surgery. I was off for the last surgery for 2 months, this one will only require an overnite stay and about a one month recovery. I was just getting back to get my sick leave built back up, so I am thinking Nov. or Dec.
I hope everyone is doing well. Thats it for me, best wishes to everyone.

I saw my PC who was really upset that the GI Dr didn't do more tests or even an office visit to talk with me. To tell the truth I think I have adhesions but both my GYN & PC Drs want a full work up from a GI Dr. So since I'm paid up on my deductable & out of pocket deductable I'll do the tests. I hate waiting 1-2 weeks in between appt. My pain is getting worse! I even had to take a vicoden this weekend, left over from my hyster. I've only got 6 left so these Dr better hurry up and figure out what is going on.

Does anyone else have any adhesion problems?

Maybe I'm just a "lucky" girl and have to have surgeries every 5 months (I had 3 last year looks like I could have 3 this year if I keep this up). Enough of my pitty party. Hope everyone is doing well. Congrats Denise sounds like your doing great! Glad to hear this go around is much better for you! Remember to use your Ty when you sit hehe.

Ahhhh.....Ty.....I sure do miss sitting on him! ::::sigh::::

I'm still doing pretty well. Went to Target on Saturday and tried to buy some school supplies. Unfortunately, I guess I did too much and got a couple of sore spots on my girls parts. So I've been hanging out at home and trying to stay off my feet as much as possible. I'm really working on healing right this time. I have to start classes again in two weeks and then to see the Urogyn in four so I want her to be proud! LOL I finally got a good look at things this afternoon.....it still looks pretty icky but nothing like last time. I'm making use of the Percocet a couple of times a day but its usually just when I've been up and about too much. My doc told me to use them this time it will help relax me so my body can concentrate on healing. So, I am.

I hope all goes well with your tests. This was my third surgery in 5 months so I hear ya. I suppose I'll have another surgery on my foot before the year is out but I will probably put that off 'til Christmas break. I refuse to miss any classes this semester. After making straight A's, obtaining a 3.75 gpa, and making the President's list and Dean's List.....I'm not going to let it slip away for a silly thing like an achilles tendon! LOL

I still pop in here everyday, pretty much....so keep me updated on how everyone is doing!
