Nothing seems to help with the pain (at least over the counter pain meds and who wants to keep taking the strong ones the Dr prescribes?) Also seems like I can't lay on my stomach and it hurt when I do certain movements. I didn't have this when I had my endo implants. I hope you feel better I understand this road we are on-it stinks! I'm starting to feel that same adhesion pain again...there is no hope for me!
thanks, that sheds some light on the pain that I have been having. Awhile back my right hip bone felt like it was on fire and the pain was real hard to deal with. I thought it was from the depo shot and that I was losing calcium

The pain part is tough because three advil or aleve at a time don't help and I can't have any pain killers that are stronger than motrin or tylenol around the house. DR said I was fine unless I was having to take something everyday.

I tried the pelvic floor therapy for a couple of sessions. That was very interesting but I had to stop because she felt that if she tried to work the muscles she would just aggravate them and casue more pain than I was already experiencing . If the option was available, I would recommend that it be tried out. I also bought "myself pelvic muscle trainer" and tried that for awhile.

Today marks the one year hysterversary for me! I am so thankful that I had this site for help and encouragement a year ago. It would be great to hear how all the ladies from that week a year ago are doing now. I have felt great and although there have been changes from all my hormones gone, I am determined to work through those issues!
I do wish all of the March 2008 hystersisters all the best in pursuing the best of health and life!

Hi friends- I feel fabulous! I am amazed that it has been a year. I cannot tell you how great it feels to be done with those internal organs. Other than fatter and an occasional hot flash nothing. No hormones, nothing. Hope everyone is great. Happy anniversary to all of us. Thanks for the love and support!

On my anniversary yesterday, I was reflecting that I had an easy recovery. I, of course, am dealing with the surgery induced menopause with some hot flashes, some restless nights, small weight gain. I had started on the lowest dose of hormones and actually stopped them three months ago. Really can't tell much difference. Does most everyone else take hormones and something to help sleep?
Happy anniversary & wish everyone the best!

happy anniversay

Hey everyone! It's been so long since I was on this site! I got the anniversay notice from the website and realized that tomorrow it will be a year from my surgery! Wow! However, this past year did not go easy, 12 bladder infections and in February I had a cystoscopy and they stretched my urethra. I've been infection free since Feb 14th.

So aside from that and trying to get my abdominal muscles back in shape, I've been ok. However, the worst symptoms didn't come in the form of hot flashes for me - rather they were emotional ones. However, with bio identicals which really helped and support from family and friends, I've come through pretty well.

Been reading and catching up and it looks like everyone survived. Good to hear how you're all doing.

Stay well everyone!

Nice to hear how the ladies are doing a year later! I had a question for you: I am interested in looking into the bio identical hormones, I have not wanted to try any hormones replacement up until now, and wondered if there was any thoughts you could give me on your experience that might be of any wisdom to me. thanks!

bio identicals

Well, the studies that have been done on HRT have been done with synthetic hormone progestin - which is progesterone altered from its natural state. Also, most dr's use estrogen from horse mare's urine. These are the problem. The bio identical hormones from vegetable and plant sources are more natural and gentle on a woman's system. I have had absolutely no side effects - each one comes in a cream base from a compounding pharmacy, my dr ordered them by prescription and they are covered under my extended health plan. Because they are a cream, I can adjust the dosage easily and by minute amounts so that I don't take more than I need.

I hope you find some help with this. You can always try it and see how it works for you.

I hope those of you with questions about hormone therapy will visit the hormone forums on this site. There are four of them:

Natural Menopause - for women who kept one or both ovaries.

No-Hormone Desert Oasis - for women who don't have their ovaries and can't or don't want to use hormone therapy.

Hormone Jungle - for women who have no ovaries and are already established on hormone therapy.

Hormone and Menopause Central - for pre- and early post-op members and/or women who aren't established on hormone therapy and have questions about it. Please note that to start a new thread on that message board you'll need to scroll down on the page just a bit to find the "New Topic" link.

You're welcome to post a new thread in the hormone forum which best matches your circumstances so you can get input from women who have lots of information and experiences to share.
