morning kiddos!

Denise: you did the right thing,

Now it is time to go back to healing.

Had a tough night last night, tried to go out to dinner for my moms birthday. The restaurant was jammed, seats were rickety and service was excruciatingly slow. I got dizzy several times while sitting in my seat and made dh take me home quickly.

Then the worst: I cant get my coffee maker to work this morning. I feel a trend.

Don't plan on doing a thing today (like I have done a thing in the past two weeks)

Alright need to rest ; check back this afternnon.

You make me laugh!

So yesterday, I was in the tub reading and looked down at my tummy...

"I'm a rock star!" I thought.

My tummy actually looked and felt great. It was rather flat, with some semblance of poochiness, but overall nice to look at. It was kind of wierd. When I got out of the tub, I put on a short gown with a matching sheer robe and went around the house doing some dishes and this-n-that. I felt great!

Then, as the day progressed, my tummy gave in and my pooch returned, like an old friend you just can't shake at a party.

Oh well. For a bit, it was really wonderful to have that feeling back. I am looking forward to more of those days in the future!

What happens in the space where the uterus was...

Each organ has mesentery that keeps everything in place. The other body parts filled in but relative to their position (things don’t tangle up). Definition - Mesentery: membranous tissue that carries blood vessels and lymph glands, and attaches various organs to the inner wall of the abdomen.

My Mother-in-law is a Director of Nurses and my DH has helped her study of the years and his mind is like a sponge everything sinks in (he should have been a DR but he has a fear of needles, darn!) I asked my DH this same question and this is what he told me. Hope this helps to understand what is happening inside us!

2nd week recovery

I had LSH with bilateral ovary removal on 3/12. (Wed.)

Went in for surgery at 7am and was in my room by 10am and left for home at 11:30am same day. The pain was not much more than what i experienced each month.
Reason for LSH, Multiple cysts on both ovaries, fibroids in uterus, and much adhesions on ovaries. I only took 3 pills for pain that Dr. sent me home with. Three evenings for pain, and help with sleep. My brain did not know that I was tired, I just found myself waking up from a "nap". I did this for about 3 days. I noticed that the swelling in my stomach happened in the evenings. Not able to eat that much due to the swelling. Gas is a little odd, I can feel it moving around and a little discomfort. The swelling in the belly is the real bother. Two weeks, tomorrow< and I still get the swelly belly in the evening. Each day this is less and less. At the post op visit with the Dr. he said that the more i sit with my legs up, level with my heart, the less swelly belly there will be. Seems to be true for me. (I had been doing a lot of sitting in a chair with feet down.) The Dr. said that I could start driving when I could hop up and down on one foot with no pain. My Husband still wants me to do nothing. He has been so wonderful to do laundry, dishes, he even has come home from work to get my lunch for me. Our church has been great bringing in dinners every other evening for a week and a half. I am soooo bored!! I started hrt. the day after surgery and have not noticed much difference. (i am 43 yrs.) I have no thyroid due to cancer 3 yrs. ago. My pathology report came back normal for the LSH. Yeah!!!!!!!! Kind of wierd that all the hormones in my body are now "man made" pill form.
I feel so much better now!!! I am able to sleep on my sides now. I can't wait to get back to going to aerobics!!! and my regular duties!!
