She had no problem with that, because she recommended Therapy for that. Surgery is over and I've had a problem with the muscle in my left leg, and I could barely walk for 2-3 days. My OB/GYN set my up for Physical Therapy 6 days after surgery. So I figured since I was already there, I may as well start on the neck. I called my PCP and she had no problem with that. I had my first session yesterday. We had tried a muscle relaxer (Skelaxin) and did absolutely nothing. We tried Celebrex and I had a weird reaction to that. The pain meds from hyster have helped some with the pain, but the tightness and popping are driving me crazy. What symptoms do you have?
I have pain in my right arm and fingers tingling, very sore neck and headache going on day 7. PCP wanted to put me on Skelaxin but I have bad reaction with those...VERTIGO. It didn't surface until after surgery, I think the bed rest agrevated it. My first sesion is tomorrow morning with heat and cold packs also ultrasound.

DD4 went with Grandma today for 2 sleepovers, I am so tired and uncomfortable so that will help.

Going on a date with DH tonight. I took a bath, curled my hair, even makeup and JEANS! I need my steak!

new here and 19 days post-op

Hello everyone! I am 19 days post-op and was feeling wonderful. I had a abdominal hyst. I am not exactly sure what she found, because she came into my room at 6:45 the next morningafter my surgury. I do remember, she found endo on the abdominal wall, a bunch of cysts onmy one and only right ovary, which she punctured and drained, and somethign else. I will find out all that at my 6 week follow-up. This was my 7 th surgury for endometriosis. I have one 7yrold daughter from my 3rd lap, and am sooo thankful!
So I am not one to lay around and be waited on and I think you can guess what is coming next. I have been doing things I shouldn't. I know bad girl. But after finding this site and actually reading up on recovery and how things heal, which I wsa not told before hand, I am now relaxing. The day I left the hospital I was actually told to stay up walking and no lay down for long periods because that is not how you heal, if you can lift it with one hand lift it, if not don't.I am not a weakling by the way. Stairs are fine, just take it slow. So at 4 days post op and feeling great I went downstairs to find some crafty stuff to do and on the way up felt a small pop. Hmmm, good advice. This was not my Docter who discharged me by the way. And I did take to heart the walking and lifting. I feel like phoning my Doc and telling her what he told me, especially after reading the recovery do's and don't. So no more laundry, sweaping, cleaning the bathroom, or what have you.
Other than that, I am so amazed at fast I am healing! Yesterday was the first day driving, and i went okay. I have a truck and it takes awhile to get in, but getting out is fun! You almost roll out! Today I am absolutely exhausted.
I also have a very embarassing question. I have been having painful BM. And have had some bleeding. I have also been trying to get off Senokot. Its a stool softener and laxitive together. If a skip a day, I don't go for a day and the next day I do go is excrutiating. Is anyone else having this problem? I am not sure if its fisures or hemmi, but it sucks.
Sorry to ramble on. I will go for now! Its nice to see a site like this!

I had an anal spincteroplasty along with a bunch of other stuff. I am currently 3 weeks postop. I still have bleeding with BMs, I'm told it's normal. I even went to the ER a week or so 'cause I was bleeding for several days very heavily. It turned out that I was bleeding from the open surgical wound. Again, normal. I thought how can a person bleed this much and have it be normal. But I guess it was 'cause two days later the bleeding just stopped. Now, it's just the irritation of the stitches when I have a BM. But of course, don't hesitate to ask your doc.

Yeah, I have pain in my upper right arm and weakness in my wrist and hand. Being off work has helped with those as well. I hope to get all these things mended before going back to work.

Back from my 2 week post-op, which included a pelvic exam. Happy to report that even though they took my uterus out through my vagina, the pelvic exam was not at all painful. I was released with no further treatment needed and without any restrictions, so it's back to work I go tomorrow.

Asked the doctor why I cannot stay awake for more than 4 hours at a time without a nap and he explained that our bodies go into "overdrive" due to the surgery and they just have to sort themselves out. He predicts that in another week, I will not need the naps.

So, on that basis, I am going back half days for the next few days.

Went out to dinner with my DH and sisters to celebrate and have a big pot of soup on the stove.

Wishing continued progress for all of us . . .

I had 2 and half wk post op yesterday..no internal he just checked 5 incisions said looked good (one in middle is sore and has a scab and stitch poking out..he told me not to pick it..like I would , I can't stand my shirt rubbing it. I raked yard, vacummed today and am sorry I did. I was careful doing both but know I shouldn't of. I am still on restrictions even though healing good and with exception of always being tired, feeling good. I asked about shooting pains in vagina, rt. thigh pelvis and he said it was normal. I told DH I'm ready to go out to nice dinner so hoping for this wknd. Is anyone else uncomfortable sitting up? I seem to have to be curled up or tilted.

Hi everyone. My follow went well.I found out my procedure was all laproscopic, I had one enlarged ovary removed full of cysts,& the uterus was enlarged with fibroids.I go back in four wks & will get internal exam at that time didn't have that done today .....but she said no sex, nothing in the vajayjay for 4,yes 4 more weeks . I kept my cervix she said there is mesh material on top of it to prevent other organs from sticking there. She told my boyfriend & I, the only exercise I can do is walking.I can pick up my Grandson he is 13 lbs.But nothing bigger.& She gave me a refill of pain meds she said there are gonna be good days & bad days & take them when it hurts but dont drive on them otherwise I can drive! So I drove myself to the pharmacy & got that refill because after hours of sitting between the ride there & the wait til I was seen I fealt all pinched up!I was relieved no cancer was found. They did see diverticulitis, but it hasnt bothered me.So I hope everyone is doing good.I am glad I'm not going back to work for three weeks.I feel sorry for those that have to,it is nice to relax.

Hi eveveryone
I am at a conference but skipped out tonight because I sure missed this website - so good to read all the posts - I too have been having pain in my belly and was panicking thinking I am overdoing it here - on my feet to much and am sooo relieved to hear about others having the same type of pain. I am feeling well aside from the pain but my sleep is worse now because of the pain and I am on my last pain killer and was hoping I wouldn't have to refill the script. I go home tomorrow and will probably have to recover a few days as the pain and lack of sleep will probably catch up with me.

Take care sisters - tomorrow is a new day
