when can I ride my horse again?

Usually when your doctor clears you for all activity you can start...just start with a short hack on a gentle trail because your core strength won't be what it normally is - I went for my first ride yesterday...I am 9 weeks now...it was ok...I rode the quietest horse in the barn though!! I wouldn't be taking any fences anytime soon

when can I ride my horse again?

I found this older post on hystersisters about horseback riding.

We only have one horse and she isn't old enough to ride yet anyway. I would check with your Dr on your individual case as everyone and their own circumstances are different.

Good luck

when can I ride my horse again?

My Dr. told me I could ride at 6 weeks. I see him tomorrow (11 days post-op) I plan to ask again, and ask when I can resume dog training (9 month old lab). At six weeks I plan to ride the most broke horse I have. I won't be climbing on anything else for a few weeks after that The thing that bummed me out was no heavy lifting (<20 pounds) for 3 months. My saddle weighs more than that, so I will have to have someone tack up for me

While you are asking about the riding, ask him about that puppy pulling you around... I was at the humane society over the weekend and was looking at another lab puppy. (my 15 yr old had to be put to sleep) I just remember how strong that dog was and was wondering if I would be able to handle one.
