Can someone tell me how there can be remnants of tissue?? I was under the impression when they removed the ovaries they do it as a whole piece of tissue.

I was told that sometimes when your ovaries are adhered to other organs and they have a hard time removing them that they tend to leave microscopic pieces of tissue.

I go back to my OBGYN in a month for a follow-up. I think I'm going to revisit the cyst thing with her. I've been blaming all of the pain on adhesions but from what I'm reading here it may be cysts doing more of the damage. My pelvic pain is more pin-pointed to my lower back with a constant duller pain and a stabbing pain in my kidney or ovary area from time to time. Does that discribe the pain that any of you are experiencing?

Oh yes, sometime it feels like a hot poker running through me from my ovary and out my back, sometimes duller achey pains around the hip bone area and sometime radiating up into my chest and shoulder. But adhesions could give you the same type of pain.

Well I guess you know the pain I have then. It has really taken over my life. I either have to be drugged up or I can't function. I always just thought it was the adhesions because the Drs. made comments about how much "scar tissue" my body would produce. I never thought about cysts. I just have to find a way to get some relief from the pain if it's possible. Do you have pain all the time?
