To Girdle, or Not to Girdle...

Hi Ladies!
I have a question for those of you that have gone back to work...
I am a managing partner for a busy restaurant, and am on my feet most of my 10-12 hour workday. I have read posts that some women need "support" on their midsections during their workday. I am returning to work on Monday, March 17. I would like to hear from anyone who has gone back to work and a girdle has helped them. I have never worn one before, and I would appreciate any input anyone has to offer.
Thanks for your help!

I have not gone back to work but I have been wearing an abnomial brace for support and I have noticed that my swelly belly has gone down tremendously. When I don't when it I tend to swell up. If I were you I would definelty wear one. Good Luck

You may also want to check out a thread on here that says high heels are really a problem for the first six months. I haven't tried a girdle yet but at least one friend has recommended it post her hysterectomy...I am planning to get one to try.

That is my next purchase!! Although I am not excited about it, but as a teacher I am on my feet and have a significant amount of swelly belly. I also have been blessed with 2 hernias that are in need to repair, one umbilical and the other 1/2 between incision and belly button. I have major muscle seperation from previous pregancies. The area was week and the swelling from this surgery finally gave way. Yuck! I am looking at another major surgery in a few months.(hopefully the surgeon that I see Thurs. will let me wait that long!)

I had a TVH four days ago and I'm wearing a light girdle as we speak. I started wearing one the day I got home from the hospital. Every time I have had any type of abdominal/reproductive system involved procedure, I have worn a girdle for at least a week. It makes a huge difference. Then I switch to support briefs/hose, even with pants. It really does help, especially if you will be on your feet for a while.
