Ovaries removed - feeling great

I have my one lonely ovary which needs to go away lol. It decided to start growing cysts right after surgery. I too have personal summers and power surges!! So what is that ovary doing at 71/2 weeks just sitting around growing cysts. I am 41 and already pre menopausal before this but DR refused to put me into surgical menopause if he could help it.

Ovaries removed - feeling great

I started on HRT right away. I was having night-sweats pre-op and I didn't want them to get worse. I am on estrogen and progesterone bio-identicals. Still trying to get them balanced. Both of my Dr.'s said I should go on them even with the endo. I don't plan on giving them up either. I think the benefits outweigh the risks. But, that is just me. I am 44.

Ovaries removed - feeling great

Hi: I had my TAH/BSO on Dec. 6th and can't tell you how good I feel. I had no complications after the surgery and am not on any HRT. I do get some hot flashes, and insomnia, but no comparison with PMS. I will manage. I am 49 and it seems the last couple years have been the worst with the PMS. It finally feels great to feel normal again!!!

Ovaries removed - feeling great

I had my ovaries removed on 2/8. I am 46 and they put a patch on me in operating room. I switched to pills, Premarin .625 a week later. I feel great - no hot flashes or night sweats. Just mild insomnia that I plan on talking to the Dr about tomorrow. I was SO scared so I am so glad to be 4-1/2 weeks out and feeling so good! I just feel normal!

Ovaries removed - feeling great

I too had my ovaries removed. I week post op now. I feel great all except I am not allowed to do much. Does every body need to go on hormones. And I hope what you all say about the PMS being gone will happen to me. I was having 2 PMS times a month followed by irregular bleeding. I got to the point where I just assumed I was in 1 long period. My doctors have not put me on any yet. They both want to do the bone density test (as I am shrinking). I don't think I am a good canidate for hrt because of family history, but I should know more next week. But I would never have PMS again then it will be worth it to stay off. Oh yeah. I'm 44 yrs. young.
