Whoever has had laparoscopy......

I had a LAVH for adhesions from previous c-sections.
~I stayed in the hospital for about 32 hours
~I did have a morphine pump and I am STILL on meds because I am still having severe pain. Watch the percocet. It will constipate you and that can lead to more pain.
~I did bowel prep.
~I don't know how long my surgery was.
~I'm still having pain and not back to myself at all yet.

Whoever has had laparoscopy......

I've had 2 regular laparoscopies, one for endometriosis and one for an ovarian cyst. I'm not sure I can offer much help but...

~ How long did you have to stay? (I don't get to go home the same day.) Both times I went home the same day.

~ How long before returning to work? I'd say it depends a lot on what you do at work. I went back at 3 weeks the last time.

~ Did you have to do bowel prep? I didn't have to do a bowel prep for either one. Just had to stop eating at midnight.

~ Did you need hard pain killers or were you able to get by with OTC meds. Yes, I used pain killers for the first couple of weeks but it seems like it wasn't around-the-clock like with the hysterectomy. I think by the second week, it was more of an evening/nighttime thing so I could sleep.

~ Did any of you have to do the Lovenox injections, and how did that work with your belly looking like a blueberry and them having to make the incisions in your belly. No.

~ How long was your surgery? I don't remember how long the first one was because that was 10 years ago. The one I had done 10 months ago was about 2-1/2 hours, but I also had about 5 different things done.
